HAS BAYRAK TAKEN OVER THE CY FORUM

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Piratis » Wed May 23, 2007 11:21 pm

There is peace between the north and the south.

There is no peace. There is a cease fire. How can there be peace while 1/3rd of Cyprus is still occupied by foreign troops?

How many times do you have to be told....It is settled in by Cypriots with a republic of our own. The army is our protection from your ceasefire. I am glad you have classed it as such because the army might have thought that you had no intention of attacking us and there really was peace and go home. We don't want that now do we?????

I hope you are not patronising me just because my language or rather my tone is not as harsh as Zans or Big Oz. The problem I pose to you is whether there will be an everlasting peaceful solution to the Cyprob which will be acceptable to both sides. My opinion on this will surely differ from yours. From what has happened in the past and the attitude of your leadership (and to some extent ours as well - and I cannot blame them) the hypocrisy of Tpop and co I can not see this happening. Can you see this happening? Seriously now. How do you see the GC refugees returning to their former homes? What will you do with the TCs you displace. That will be your stumbling block and so its up to "Compensation". No no no. What we idealise is different from the facts / reality. We have to face the truth of the matter. I can dream of peace for Cyprus and you can do likewise, but there is no way where our wishes will merge. Do you still think I am sensible? We will agree to disagree. I wish for peace, and do you know what? There is peace between the north and the south. We can still try to live as good neighbors. What do you say?

If you love your country as much as I do , and I'm sure your a proud Cypriot then you will direct all your energy towards reconciliation. This means burying the past , the 60s the 70s , all the hatred that the war brought.Work towards forgiveness and respect for each others suffering. We were all born within miles of each other , interacted for so many years in a peaceful environment , why not again.
The future generations demand from their cradle that they are assured a conflict free nation where respect and understanding of each others concerns and worries is addressed. LET THERE BE RECONCILIATION AMONGST CYPRIOTS.

The attack is done by Turkey by invading the sovereign Republic of Cyprus. Cyprus has the right to defend her sovereignty. Do you have a problem with that?

Yes I have because if you really believe that then we had every right to defend our selves from the attack by your EOKA henchmen and the attacks we have had from you ever since.

Zan, you are like the Nazis occupying France. They also had a lot of excuses you know, and they also fought to keep what they illegally occupied. So go ahead, continue the war against us, I didn't say I expected you to stop, did I? So don't "inform" me about something I know already.

We are in our own country Piratis and no matter how many times you try to blur the edges of that fact it will never change. You are so scared by that fact that you keep trying to blame it on Turkey. Keep trying....

You can not ethnically cleanse the majority of the native population, replace them with foreigners, install a puppet government and then have a country. You can call it any way you wish, but what exists in the northern part of Cyprus is an illegal foreign occupation. You can say that you are superman also, it will not make you one.
