Humanist thank you for that post. Just as I'd lost all hope you have posted something of great value.
I've recently found out that I myself could possibly face deportation from Cyprus in the event of RoC (as it is)taking over the whole island. Bearing in mind that I was born and raised in Cyprus, the fact I've never met my dad whos Turkish from Turkiye I don't see any other reason than to rid Cyprus of Turks, why I nor anyone in my sitution should be made to leave our country of birth. My mums sister also married a mainland Turk and they've been living in Cyprus since they moved from Turkey. My cousin who was also born, raised and continues to live in Cyprus is finding it very difficult to obtain RoC citizenship because his father is also Turkish from Turkiye...
I hope you can understand my stance sometimes when we have people like Piratis who make it so obvious their main dream is to have Cyprus with as little Turks as possible and not a "unified" Cyprus.
I agree with you also that the states of Cyprus should stay as they are, since once the barriers and borders have gone it wont make a blind bit of difference, though I DO understand that GCs may not agree to this so it's not something I would actually try to get them to agree with, I would be happy with 18%.
