perhaps it is time to drop this horrible rape analogy and find something else...I don't think the GCs and TCs were husband and wife...I see them more like Brother and Half-sister,fighting over the future of their inherited land...You see they had some sacred land which was in control of their terrible step mother (Britain)...The step mother didn't really want to relinguish the control of the land, but had no choice in the end because the Brother got big and strong and started agitating for total control of the sacred land...The Brother thought the land should be given to his real mother (Greece),but the sister thought it should be divided and half of it should go to her real mother (Turkey)...
Okey I have set the scene for the new story...who wants to take it one step further????

The whole thing went to court and the house was split 63% to 37%. They built a bloody great big wall between the split house and the sister married a bigger man than her brother that kept him off her back and they all lived happily ever after.
The End

Where ever Turkish Cypriots are DT. We are becoming a community again and are finding our identity after it was unceremoniously taken from us. The TCs all over the world are beginning to wake up and are believing in their right to the TRNC. This is not to detriment of the GCs but a good thing for the TCs. We have a home at last that a hostile government will not take us over in. When I tell people I am from Cyprus now, they do not say..."Oh, you must be Greek then".

How can you be becoming a communityZan when a very large percentage of you have emigrated and settlers have been bought in? According to TC data as well, you guys are a minority over there.

The community is for all TCs around the world. There are many that are returning and if the embargoes are lifted and more employment can be offered then many more will return. The whole point is that TCs from all over the world is beginning to talk to each other and I welcome that. I will be doing more in the near future to promote that. More Turkish Cypriot culture events and a coming together of all the people. The momentum has started and I hope it will keep going. You do not realise what forty years of hardship and embargoes have done to our psyche DT. We began to believe that we did not exist, just like Birk and Kikapyros. We do not really belong in Turkey and we are not wanted by the "RoC", as we are, but as a ruined and destroyed people. Like most of us I gave up on ever being a TC but now walk proud. I am not afraid to be a Turkish Cypriot.

I'm not arguing against that. on the contrary i feel its very important for the TC's to get their sense of self back again. What I'm saying though is how is this community going to ever go home when for every 1 tc that left your so-called democratic govt brough 2 settlers to take their place. Its what Rauf used to say Turk goes Turk comes...whats the difference?

We have been effected in so many ways DT but we have to start to repair that at some point. The fact that there will be a change is of course true but how different are you guys from what you were before Greece came in and killed thousands of you. You make it seem as if we should be like we were 50 years ago. We have evolved my friend and the new Turkish Cypriot will mix with the old and we too will have an identity.

How the hell you've managed to take an even as violent and as mammoth as a full scale invasion by air, land and sea of 40,000!!!! heavily armed troops from a nation of 70 million against a nation of 650,000 with an army of a couple of hunting gun armed gc soldiers and a jeep....and TURN INTO THE BIGGEST TRAGEDY AGAINST TURKEY IS UNBELEIVABLE!!!

YES there was intercommunal fighting in the 60's
YES there were atrocities from both sides
YES the Greek side made huge mistakes

But for gods sake this victimised woman you speak off is nothing but an unrecognised entity built on the land and lives of people that were massively expelled in a violent invasion which killed thousands.

There's blame to be shared out but I won't sit and listen to this Virgin Mary crap for one more second.

So you say she should go back to the husband who your you yourself say "YES the Greek side made huge mistakes" by repeatedly raping her for 11 years and did not want to marry her anyway, as he was forced in 1960. So the wife being the TCs is not recognized? No rape will accept going back to the rapists bed let alone share the same house. The same neighbourhood with extra strong safe guards then maybe she may accept.

I think I know where I have seen TMT Viewpoint before.

It was in the Movie "Blazing Saddles".

There was a scene, where the bad guys are recruiting bunch of criminals to go and destroy the a town by the name "Rockridge" so that the people would leave, and after the railroad is built through the town, it would be worth millions.

So you have bunch of criminals and the most undesirable waiting to be interviewed.

As the Boss is interviewing the criminals for the job, one character is asked " so what kinds of crimes have you committed"??

The criminal said, "Rape, Larceny, Stolen Land, Murder, Rustling Cattle, Bank Robbery, Rape".

The interviewer said to the criminal" You said Rape twice".

The criminal said, "I like Rape".

I think that person who played that role, had to be TMT Viewpoint, because he just loves talking about Rape.!!!
