The 11th North Cyprus International Bellapais Music Festival kicks off tonight. The Festival which will be held between May the 21st and June the 18th with the participation of musicians from many countries starts with an opening concert by the Cukurova State Symphony Orchestra.
Musicians from the Turkish Cypriots, Turkey, Israel, France, Switzerland, Germany, Russia, Belgium and Japan will perform during the festival.

All the concerts will take place at Bellapais Monastry and will start at 8.30 pm.

Thanks Halil, on behalf of Piratis and Co. They do not know what they are missing. My village is in the south. I still go there and enjoy myself. And there are Karpasians (Yialousans) living in my home. I am not as bitter as them and I should be.
I wander if they will ever play "In the Monastery Garden" and "In a Persian Market" by Ketelbey? I love that piece. I used to play it under the tutelage of Ruya Taner's father. We were going to give a concert on Cyprus TV in 1963 but the events of the Bloody Noel took over. That was the end of my claim for fame. :cry:
