I am not much good in history and a little naive. Can anyone tell me if in past history Turkey has ever given back land?

I cannot answer one way or another because it is not a credible question.

You should be asking questions like: Did Americans return America to Indians? Did British return Gibraltar to Spanish? Did Israel return occupied territories to Palestine?

You were referring to Turkey and not Ottoman Empire or some other Turkic speaking nation. If your question was directed at he Ottoman Empire, the answer would have been "Yes" - they served it to many on a gold plate!

But before tarnishing the name of Turkish Republic or Turkey, which is only just over 80 years old, in a meaningless waffle, give us one other example of land invaded by the Turkish forces during this period, besides Cyprus (for very legitimate reasons). If you cannot, then where does it leave your meaningless question?

If you're wondering if Turkey will ever WILLINGLY (out of their good heart) relinquish Cyprus then I can quite safely inform that it will never happen if all that we know of Turkey thus far is anything to go by.
