How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Indeed it was Aphrodite, and probably still is a mechanism for control. But is it religion or is it the institution of the church that has a divisive and control ideology and power? What is right and wrong Aphrodite, as we can see in the case of Cyprus there are some Cypriots who would say the cureent division of Cyprus is right or is it wrong? Or is right and wrong an individual's judgement on a something? some may argue termination of pregnancy is right or is it wrong? oooooops here I go again?

Religion = Common sense through fear of a vengeful god.

Vengence is constructive then??

It usually leads to revenge and the whole sorry situation perpetuates itself and as usual the people pay.. 1st for the taxes 2nd for the weapons and finally with their lives... by the people I mean the ones who were not consulted before action was/is taken in their alleged interests... but hey! who am I but a mere temporary blot on the scarred landscape of this divided and fast eroding earth. Welcome to the modern world of democracy - and rows over the right to crematoria! Fiddling while Rome burns comes to mind...

Piratis keep your eyes open on the Inquiry carried out into the CYPRUS FILES in the south. Your glorious leaders complicity in the matter will be exposed. Watch that space. Ex-President Glafcos Clerides has already given his deposition. I hope they make them available to the public in my life time. If not your children will find out the bitter truth.

Humanist - my my you still keep using such derogatory terms re your state of mind - I know I am fine apart from a mild current concern re church and state powers... the history of most religions and indeed Government is hardly worthy of praise except when a touch of sanity prevails albeit occasionally.

Hahaha.. There is no such thing as a quick assessment of a person's mental health - certainly not over a medium like the net! There is no such thing as normal either - so to claim to be normal means that by definition one is abnormal... You go to bed early or are you in the US or Aus?l

No, vengeance is unnecessary if common sense prevails. Therefore religion is unnecessary.
