British carpetbaggers to hold demonstrations in the north

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby pitsilos » Mon May 14, 2007 10:36 am

the reason the eu never talk about economies, is because the relevant chapter hasn't open yet...just you wait and we both will see the outcome...the turks will be screaming again movement of goal posts

and as far as the yanks are concerned, you gotta see from where they are coming from...i call it a perfect relationship...they approve the loans, gets you in debt and then you give it straight back in the form of armament purchases...end of the day they are sucking the blood out of you and you say what? a big thank you while kissing their ass?

Zan you just don't get it do you. Your "country" was created illegally by armed force by Turkey for her own needs - not your welfare. Two wrongs don't make a right, whatever "justification" you may feel you have (and I have always held the belief that both sides were equally to blame in some respects for the events of the 1960s) for creating your "state" the plain truth is that you are not recognised and never will be unless you can come to an agreement with the GCs. Turkey may think she is big enough to conquer and keep part of ROC but she cannot force the world to accept the "TRNC" as a legally constituted state. My own belief is (regretably) that the US, in its desperation to halt the expansion of Islam and see Turkey in the EU, will bribe Turkey to settle with the GCs and as a result Cyprus will be partitioned with Turkey retaining its base on about half the territory it now occupies. The "TRNC" will eventually be no more than a Turkish province.
You don't believe me? Look at the comtemptuous way your "saviours" treat one of your attempts to develop your tourist industry. This is from a carpetbaggers site May 12th

Before we came over here to TRNC a large holiday complex was built, with chalets on the beach and numerous other facilities such as restaurants, beach bar, tennis courts, disco all you would need for the complete holiday and all of this around a large beach area. Now the only guests are the local goats, who at least keep the vegitation trimmed. Things are beginning to look a little in need of TLC with broken windows etc and abandoned furniture. Somebody spent a considerable sum on the whole complex and also the abandoned helicopters. We have been told that one of the main reasons for walking away from this was because the military refused a licence to operate the helicopters, which were to have ferried guests to the Karpas area, as well as to and from the airport. Very sad, I shall endeavour to find out more.

With regard to building standards in the ROC, I recently visited Cyprus with a view to buying a property. I saw many buildings at various stages of construction and was impressed by the workmanship and standard of finish. I can't speak for the small developers but providing one sticks to the large well known names there should not be any problems.

What country are you refering too there, Jerry? :)

Jerry as sad as it sounds, I regret to say that this is the bitter truth that awaits Cyprus and sadly all Cypriots. Even more sadly is that the Turkish speaking Cypriots will probably by that time have suffered more by the non existence of an economy, and the RoC will have to pick up the pieces and support the Turksih speaking Cypriots as it already has started.

All I can say is that the International community to satisfy the American greed has SOLD Cyprus and Cypriots to the Turkish army.

My country was declared by a Turkish Cypriot for the Turkish Cypriots by a man called R.R.Denktas. Even Turkey recognises us as so, so your arguement falls flat on its face as soon as it is started. Turkey would not recognise it if it were not so.

You don't have a "country" Zan, you have a Illegal de facto state, that does not have control of it's destiny. If you are very proudly going to present R.R. Denktas as the founder of the de facto state of the "TRNC", it is also fair to say, that his actions of stealing 30,000 Donüms of GC land, hat set the course of creating a "Corrupt Society".

You can't trade freely, nor have direct flights nor get any recognition from any country in the world, except from the occupying force, that helped Denktas to commit his illegal gains. As far as Turkey recognising the "TRNC", is a bit like paying for a "hooker", in that you can actually think, that the hooker is your girlfriend, while "doing her". Even the Palestinians have the good sense of not declaring an Independent State Unilaterally, because of the non- recognition issues, even though, they would have been recognizes by almost all the Arab Countries and more, and poor Zan boosts about "TRNC's" only prized recognition, coming from the Country, that is occupying them.

You are on the right track Zan. Continue being the good "foot soldier" without asking any questions, and one day, you will be rewarded for your efforts with some "HARAM" land.

I ask all the questions I need to and have the necessary actions that have to be done. I plan on improving my country and helping my people to have a better life. What the hell are you doing. When the time comes, if it comes, pick up a gun and fight with your friends in the "RoC". I am sure you will have a great time helping your people. What a moron. You want the corruption out of he TRNC/KKTC then help your people to do it not sit on the outside afraid to do your national service. Do your army and start the fight against corruption. Are you doing that for your home the "RoC". Perhaps you do not care about either side but only about what Kikapyros wants.

Brits call for property action in north
By Jean Christou
WHETHER they’re buying Greek Cypriot properties or not, British home buyers in the north claim they are being cheated left, right and centre and have decided to take drastic action.

From tomorrow, members of the Homebuyers’ Pressure Group (HPG), which has 1,000 members, plan to stage daily 10-hour demonstrations outside the ‘parliament’ in the north in a bid to force action on property related issues.

The group says members’ dreams of a home in the north have become a nightmare due to some lawyers, builders, developers and estate agents taking advantage of lax property legislation.

Some of the problems faced by buyers, many retired, include missing funds amounting to millions of pounds, laws being ignored by lawyers and builders, double and triple selling, properties half built and abandoned, homes built with no electricity and water, properties sold off-plan and never built, and properties paid for in full with nothing built.

The lengthy list also refers to properties being built on ‘government and disputed’ land, and properties built without any title deeds, all of which have resulted in people losing their life’s savings.

The pressure groups says buyers are living in fear because of threats and intimidation by builders, being ignored when they complain, and having to live in third world conditions detrimental to the health of many retirees.

Marian Stokes, the founder of HPG told a recent meeting of members that the people who could improve their lot “either don’t listen, are impotent and are puppet figureheads or just don’t care”.

“After all this effort, new people are joining every week and there is a steady trickle of people leaving the island for good, their dreams shattered. In many instances, I think the problems are getting worse!” Stokes said. “We live in a country where the laws are ignored and broken with impunity and nobody does anything about it”.

Stokes said talking and continually stating that they want to work with the ‘government’ had “borne a poor crop”.

“And I for one am fed up with it. The time has come for direct action and I propose we become more visible and start demonstrating,” she added.

NIGHTMARE TALES

Couple 1 decided in 2005 to buy a home in the north, signing a contract in August that year. In January 2006 work began but by August, a year later, “just a few bricks had been laid”. In October they were informed the company would be closing down. They emailed the developer and received back an abusive response “threatening to have friends of ours arrested if they were seen taking photographs on our site.” Up until this month the couple has still heard nothing.

Couple 2 found a partly built property in 2002 and were asked for 20,000 sterling to finish the job. They handed over 5,000 and were then asked for 2,000 more for two air conditioning units and a fridge freezer he had found for them. The couple later found out he had paid only 700 for them. After work started with no clear completion date suddenly the price went up with another 4,000 for unspecified extras and the couple discovered the builder wasn’t even registered. They found another builder but the first one then sued them and the case went on for four years.

Couple 3, aged 76 and 72, decided on a property in November 2004, paid the deposit and were offered a ten per cent discount if they paid in full early. As pensioners, this was a huge saving for them so they mortgaged their home in Wales and paid 134,950 sterling. In October 2005 all building stopped without explanation and to date the couple have not heard a thing. Now the husband has cancer, is unable to work and pay the mortgage. They have already had their car re-possessed and now stand to lose their UK home.

Suck eggs for the British .......... Deep down I do feel sorry for the feckers ........ but may be this time they can engage the Blair thing to take action against the thieves who sold them the refugee land rather than taking the refugee to court. Perhaps this can be a lesson for all Brits who decided they want to live in the occupied area of Cyprus

Those numbers are still increasing...I wonder why? They are banking on continued GC stupidity in never finding a solution and agreeing to share with TCs. I think after 44 years they maybe right.
