As for reading you like an open book , well you come across as an a amiable intelligent heart warming and may I say attractive female with her head firmly on her shoulders and you have a sense of humour too , a virtue of enormous dimensions. To laugh at life and look at the funny side of things is indeed a virtue .

You have mentioned your mother a few times and I like people who are family orientated as you obviously are.
As far as seeing into the future I can see you will make someone very happy and lucky to have you , if you ha vent already. I better stop now , VP might accuse me of being a dirty old man flirting with a young thing like you !!!
But do please tell me where your based .

   Miltiades I think you will have more problems with Natty than VP if you keep going

Thank you for your kind words Miltiades...I am not that perfect as you think     but I am really honoured with your words!

But you made a mistake...I am a teacher but at the moment I am in the procedure of learning and not teaching. I live in Southampton right now (for my master degree) but your memory is quite good (for your age ), my house is based in Nicosia (but to be honest I feel more like a Paphian girl)

too often in cyprus , we have phrases that originate from a story.
often a real story, with a moral or one that was funny.

at some point the phrase ends up being widely used while the story is forgotten.... then one day you try to translate that phrase , and you realise that it makes no sense - without the context it was one created.
often these phrases are also local , so you cannot expect that all cypriots understand them.

Yes that is true, but somewhere out there, there must be someone who knows the story behind this phrase and it's a pity to go wasted.
Also another one commonly used is ' Bou gadar para, bou gadar boya' (trnslated from Turkish means, so much paint for so much money) which I guess means 'you get what you've paid for'.

I suggest that the phrase might mean that" the borrower of the money is so poor that even the broad beans (which were supposed to be so cheap) had to be bought on credit (veresiye). You all nearly got it. I think I am correct.
