So Thats Whats In It 4 The Brtish Fuckers ......

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby BirKibrisli » Sat May 12, 2007 3:57 pm

You guys of British descent must know by now that there is a lot of resentment amongst Cypriots for Britain's role in the whole bloody saga which is known as the Cyprob...While we try to differentiate between official British government policy and the British people in general ,it is only human that we get somewhat emotional about what we see as the continuous British exploitation of Cypriot land and hospitality...
As a TC I am only amazed that the hostility amongst the GCs towards the British subjects is not more profound...I think that says a lot about the good nature and intentions of the GC people overall. But there is a point where even saints run out of patience, tolerance, and understanding...The British are really pushing their luck by buying real estate in the Trnc...

Yes I agree entirely with you Birkibrisli

But it seems that some persons are only too happy to tar every British citizen with the same brush. And this is not true.

In the main not many British persons know enough about the cyprob to make an educated decision and this is part of the problem.

Instead of criticising all the Brits who are foolish enough to buy property in the North We should be concentrating on educating them. The 'TRNC' propaganda machine is great at this. But I never see any ROC articles explaining thier side of the argument.

And I certainly dont see why I should be labelled insensitive , uncaring and swore at because i posted an inoccuous comment politely on a thread

I agree that you,and especially you,do not deserve to be called insensitive or uncaring,Richard...But people do get tired and emotional sometimes and say things they don't mean...

But I will disagree with you that many British persons do not know enough to make an educated decision...It is more likey that as human beings they succumb to greed, and turn a blind eye to the realities of the situation...Again we mustn't tar everyone with the same brush,as you say...By all means provide more information, then at least they will not have the excuse "I had no idea...!!!"

The problem is Bir and Richard that ROC relies on Brits for tourism and if their was a campaign to "educate" them it could backfire. I personally despise these Brit carpetbaggers more than anyone involved in the Cyprob and as for Cherie Blair - a so called human rights lawyer - I'm speechless. These cheapskate Brits are only out for themselves, if I had my way they would be prevented from entering the ROC shopping for goods they can't get in the north and using Larnaca airport. I hope one day they are made homeless like the 180,000 GCs were in 1974. There is a website run by one Brit in the north, it goes on about what a wonderful time they are having and how unfair things are for them and the TCs. Here's the greedy bastard's link:-

Jerry????

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is still split off from the South of the island, only recognised by Turkey and still has trade and travel embargoes, in place since 1974, which hinder economic development. The Greek Cypriots in the south and the Turkish Cypriot population in the north are actively trying to find a solution, which brings the island together again. Should a solution be found then it is probable that entry into the E.U. will be the next step. Such a step will change the entire economic position of Northern Cyprus and probably bring greater and much needed, prosperity to the people. We have had two previous holidays in Northern Cyprus and found that apart from the advantages of weather and cost of living, the people were relaxed and friendly and made you very welcome in their land.

They know about the Cyprob and it doesn't appear that they are living in refugee property...Please tell me why you think these people are greedy?

They are greedy TC because they want something they can't really afford so the buy stolen property. They can "buy" a bigger house in the north than they could in the ROC with the same money.

I don't understand the relevance of your quotation or your reference to refuge property

Are the people you brought to the forums attention as "greedy bastards" living on stolen property?

If they can buy a bigger house in the North than they could in the RoC and as long as it's not on GC land then whats the problem?

And the relevance is that they know the backround of the Cyprob and it's unlikely they would be talking about the possibility of a solution if they were living on someone elses land or if there was any chance their land would be taken from them...

How are these people greedy!?!?!?!?

What do you call people that bought the exterminated Jews golden teeth?
I bet you would answer the question as smart shoppers.

The overwhelming majority of the land in the Trnc is GC refugee land,t_c...And you know how these people know about it?Because it is the cheapest...Real estate built on TC owned land in the North is much more expensive...People buy these properties knowing that it is built illegally on land belonging to people who have not given their consent...They gamble on the possiblility that there won't be a solution for a long time. And the prize they pay is so low that they can easily consider paying rent for the years they occupy it,if they are tossed out eventually...It is opportunistic and greedy for that reason...
