DO THE PEOPLE LIVING IN NORTH CYPRUS ALLOWED A CITIZENSHIP?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

DO THE PEOPLE LIVING IN NORTH CYPRUS ALLOWED A CITIZENSHIP?

Postby TOTIS MILIOTIS » Fri May 11, 2007 9:20 pm

I Always wonder what is the Greek Cypriots reaction on this redigulus case where the Cyprus government is giving citizenship certificates to people who:

AA.Never pay taxes to the Cyprus authority
BB.They work and pay taxes under the control of the occupation foreign army.
CC:They register their cars, they are issuing birth certificates, from the inlegal occupation forces authorities.
DD.They are living in stolen properties of other citizens of the Repuplic
EE.They are cooperating with a foreign army which invated their country .

I am thinking that if a citizen of any state in the rest World acted as the people living in North Cyprus then their government would withdraw their political and constitutional rights.

You're telling me...

Such is the injustice in Cyprus and ontop of that we have people asking for more and complaining that we are bad and whatever else. :(

we do that because we like to show to the world that we are the RoC representing all cypriots. yes , there is a chance that some or a number of them dont share the opinions of the RoC , but we cannot and should not proceede to a collective punishment.

second do you honestly think that withdrawing their rights (besides the political concequences ) , would have the slightest chance in the ECHR ?

we have way more serious problems to worry about

The most important problm about Cyprus case is that GC accepted to change the base of the problem which is clearly an invasion case and a minority case which intend to control the Island.

We should stuck on the fact that we are the majority ethicity on the Island and the minority is cooperating , in practice, with a foreign army.

If we did this or if we start to do this then any Annan plan would be different

this is a completely different topic you are starting now.

yes , the problem is ofcource invasion.

in practise though , the problem is viewed both by foreign academics and diplomats as a bicomunal problem. and whether we like it or not , you will hardly ever find anyone any academic or a practisioner (mediators , International Organisations , etc) who will support a unitary state as a solution.
this is simply not an option.

You need to have self respect for yourself and your people. Not to think all the time of what others think. But again, New Cyprus Association fake identity holder known as cypezokyli, has many things to learn about self respect and dignity.

You are right, is a different subject and i would prefer som commnts on the main them of citizenship. However as a reply to your point is that Turkish side convisted all these bodys about possibility of "TAKSIM" beacuse for 40 years now they are insisting on same thing.
We are moving from theory to theory - we are even discussing here hether we are Greeks. It is therefore a logical result the international community to try to convist our side to withdraw our rights in the Island

A clear statement about our nationality, bout the rights of the majority, about the cooperation of a minority with a foreign army would help the international community to realise that , some how, an international lawful solution must be applied

TOTIS MILIOTIS, from my readings the reason why this state of affairs exist is due to the Greek Cypriot left.

They never admitted their past mistakes. Instead they try to absolve their past mistakes and responsibility by creating lame theories of how Cypriot fanatics on both sides plus the evil mainlands were/are out to get Cyprus. So as a result the Greek Cypriot society is politically and historically handicapped in even conceptualizing the "Cyprus problem" in its true dimensions. So to the NeoCypriots, the Turkish Cypriots are innocent victims who in a falsely constructed history deserve citizenship, instead of deserving to be exposed as traitors and backstabbers of the Cyprus Republic.

They never admitted their past mistakes

Mistakes such as to request their Ethnic satisfaction after of hundred of years living as slaves.

Mistakes such as to request that the majority to obtain its rights in line with the international law.

If Cyprus was a real European country where European principals applied then the Greeks of the Island would be fully satisfied. Unfortunately we are looking for other solutions which will finally create , again, a problematic state and this for the simple reason that the basic human and democratic rights will not be the case.

A final solution must be based on the reality in the Island and the international community must be convisted that the majority is majority and monority is minority.

We must insist that there is no solution which is against the basic European rules and provisions

We must top behving like a British colony and we must start to demand all he rights other countries in EU have.

Stories that we are Cypriots and not Greeks must top since same creating the hope o the international community hat we are flexible o discuss and accept soutions like Annan plan.

Is not but to be a Turk is no but to be a Greek but is just two different things and in order we have both together some basic international rules must apply.
