Two Solutions to Solve the Cyprus Problem

Postby clive of payia » Fri May 11, 2007 2:09 pm

There are really only two options to solve the Cyprus problem.

One. Invite the Turkish army back to complete the job they started in June 1974. Shouldn't take too long they went through the GC National Guard and Police like greased lightening. The Greek army would have very sensibly immediately relocated back to Greece on the basis that Cyprus is really nothing to do with them as Greece as long since moved on into the real world. On securing the whole island the Turkish army would then withdraw. We would then have a united island again. A EU police force would supervise the governing of the island until elections are held.

Two. Offer all GC's and TC's currently living in Cyprus and don't want a united island or to coexist peacefully with each other, free repatriation to north London, particularly, Palmers Green, Wood Green and Turnpike Lane, their natural spiritual home since 1960 and where the two communities do get along quite amicably. Well, there are more GC's in London than there are in Cyprus. Repatriation to the other countries such as US, Canada, Australia, etc will be encouraged as alternatives to the UK. The rest of us who live here and can get along very harmoniously invite other peaceful EU citizens to run the place.

Hey Clive I really like the 2nd solution and I am not joking either. In that I would ad Turkey for those Turkish Cypriots who feel attached to Turkey and Greece for those Greek Cypriots who identify as Greek and have an attachment to Greece.

Wood Green is not such a bad suburb either ..... personally I prefer Amos Green and in a bizare strange way Finsbury park is also kinda nice in an impoverished kind of a way.

I have to admit that the first suit me better but I think that Kifeas is a wise man so I will stick with his views....
