BRITISH 3 YEAR OLD GIRL MISSING IN PORTUGAL

Postby bambam » Fri May 11, 2007 11:28 am

The story of the British 3 year old girl Madeleine missing since last Thursday 3rd May from Portugal has really broken my heart. On holiday with her parents and snatched while asleep. Im praying that this little girl will be found alive and well but as we all know there are many many sick twisted bastards out there looking for little children to abuse. I have a 3 year old myself and the thought of her ever being taken is a mothers worst nightmare. Im praying all the time and my heart goes out to the parents.

Lets hope she is soon found alive and well. Both the parents are I believe doctors and yet behaved in an irresponsible fashion in not organizing a baby sitter , which apparently was an option offered by the establishment they were staying in . Also rather irresponsible to leave 3 babies on their own .
Lets hope that the poor little girls is soon found.

the parents of that poor girl....tho it may sound harsh are solely responsable for the actions of that night & only have them selfs to blame.
As a father of a 2 year old boy it would never cross my mind to go out & indulge in my own selfishness.
but lets hope this chapter in there lifes has,
1... a happy ending
2...teach them a lesson about looking after there children.
3...my familys thoughts are with them [fools they may be]

I agree with not EVER leaving your kids alone. It was a terrible terrible mistake they made that night. Although they were constantly checking on the kids and they were on holiday and im sure they must have though it was perfectly safe. Bless her little heart the poor thing.

Lets face it we have all done it at some time or another and left the kids for 10 mins or so, and thats no more then what they done, even though there were child minders available the parents opted to check on the kids themselves as they felt is was safer
But these days even in safe countries like portugal organised crime is present, and it seems this is more like a child to order situation rather then a sicko pervert bastard.
I just hope the little girl is found safe, and her capturs have their eyes gouged out with a blunt wooden stick before they burn them alive a limb at a time and nice and slow

They were on a Markwarner holiday. We have been on Markwarner holidays many times because it is so 'safe' and ideal for children with many childminders, nannies, children's clubs and protected admission.

Even if you don't sign up for babysitting there is a team of 10 nannies who constantly tour the site listening, watching and shining their torches into rooms to check everything is ok.

Markwarner is for families with children and give parents the only time of the year when they could relax a little more as children are so well looked after.

Mine were 5 and 7 when we first went, older than these children, and we were comfortable with the services and did leave them in the room asleep with a listening service and walkie talkies for the children. Everybody else did the same as this is what happens at Markwarner.

Admittedly I wouldn't have left them so young but can understand why they did this in the holiday environment.

Whoever it was targeted this lovely little girl and were waiting for this opportunity. Yes they should have signed up for babysitting but having been in this environment I can see why they relaxed too much.

If you read the papers the child minding service was not available. They sat outside at a tapas bar on the complex where they could see their room and they checked the children every half hour. This was a complex recognised for its child friendly and safe environment. They will suffer for this for the rest of their lives.

News just out on the British girl abducted in Portugal. Police believe she is alive .We all hope that she is indeed .
Just a short excerpt :
"""""Police investigating the disappearance of a three-year-old British girl from a Portuguese holiday resort say it appears she has been abducted.

Officers say they have a suspect in mind, and believe Madeleine McCann remains in the area and is still alive.

Her parents, from Leicestershire, left her at their apartment at Mark Warner's Ocean Club in Praia da Luz on Thursday, while they were at a nearby restaurant.

Doctors Gerry and Kate McCann have spoken of their "anguish and despair".

In the first official briefing on the case, Guilhermino Encarnacao, director of the judicial police in the Faro region, said officers are working on the assumption she is being held between 3km and 5km (1.8 and 3.1 miles) from the resort.

They had about 30 calls from potential witnesses and have created an artist's impression of a suspect.

Madeleine disappeared while her parents were at a nearby restaurant

Speaking to press on Friday evening, Mr and Mrs McCann, from Rothley, pleaded for the return of their "beautiful" Madeleine.

Mr McCann, with his wife at his side, read out an emotional statement outside the holiday apartments on Friday evening.

"We cannot describe the anguish and despair we are feeling as parents of our beautiful daughter Madeleine," he said.

"We request that anyone with any information relating to Madeleine's disappearance, no matter how trivial, contact the Portuguese police and help us get her back safely."

The Ocean Club resort offered a creche service but the couple decided to leave Madeleine and two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie sleeping in the apartment.

They had taken turns to return from the restaurant to check on their children.

Madeleine, who turns four next Friday, was last seen by her father at about 2100 local time.

When Mrs McCann went to check on her about an hour later, she found the bedroom's outside shutter and window had been opened and her daughter missing.

the family was elated to hear the police believed Madeleine was still alive.

"There was a distinct feeling of elation, you know - but it's been a while since we actually heard it and it's really important to keep your emotions in check," she said.
