TURKISH CYPRIOT BUSINESSMEN WILL HAVE CONTACTS IN KUWAIT

Postby halil » Fri May 11, 2007 10:13 am

A group of Turkish Cypriot businessmen will be flying to Kuwait tomorrow for contacts on ways of strengthening business, trade and investment links between the two countries.

During their stay in Kuwait, the businessmen will meet their Kuwaiti counterparts and representatives of media organizations with the aim of promoting the products of the country.

Before setting off to Kuwait, the businessmen visited deputy-Prime Minister Foreign Minister Turgay Avci today.
During their stay in Kuwait, the businessmen will search ways of improving trade relations between the TRNC and Kuwait and will meet with the Kuwaiti businessmen and representatives of various media organizations.

Ahead of their visit, the businessmen paid a visit to the deputy-Prime Minister Foreign Minister Turgay Avci.

Speaking during the visit, Mr Avci reminded that the Kuwaiti government decided to allow the TRNC to open a trade and tourism office in the country at the end of intense negotiations.

Noting that efforts towards opening the office were still continuing, he said the TRNC trade and tourism office was expected to start functioning within the year.

Halil,

Please excuse my ignorance, but just what does the "TRNC" produces, that will be in big demand outside the "TRNC". I was under the impression, bost things are brought into the "TRNC", from Turkey. This is a serious question. I can see promoting tourism, but what else is there.

Thanks.

You ignorant man! I’ll have you know that the “TRNC” is the world’s premier exporter of the world renowned “Adana Kebab” that everyone’s been drooling over lately... 8)

I see this as another move to upgrade the north.
I have no opinion on this , as i am a Brit living here.
But I do think that the no vote, was what shot the south in the foot..

they now have the idea, that if europe wont help, we will take up friendship
with the arab countries.

As I said, I have leanings to either side ..
