My sincere apologies Free_Cyprus for interupting your post, but, Miltiades, as a "british cypriot" i take great offence to your ignorant generalisation of "Charlies". It is these sort of ignorant throw away comments that would possibly have people start posts as this. Your comment is evidence enough to justify "Charlies" possibly feeling the way they do. Respect takes a long time to earn and one silly comment can destroy it. Please think before you speak.

Listen son , hear it from the horses mouth . The Cypriots , such as my self and 99% of all others , emigrated to the UK in order to improve our lot . 99% of us , including my self , came from the poorest families in Cyprus , mostly from villages with little or no education , apart from a thirst to earn a living and help our families either in the UK or remitting money to our Cypriot families . The ones that stayed behind were the progressive lot , the ones with a future in Cyprus and the will to build a future in their own countries. The "Charlies " remained in a warp , gaining little education , too busy earning a living , and caring for the well being of their off springs , such as yourself and my ones too.
Then the "Charlies " visit Cyprus and find that all has changed , the Cypriots have moved ahead , progressed while they remained firmly in the past. Cant speak properly without uttering pigeon English and mixing it with Greek slung while busy criticising what they call I KIPREI !! Suggesting that they are not Cypriots , well tough luck mate most Cypriots look down on Charlies because , apart from all the gold that comes out on their visits to Cyprus , its all the half Greek and half English statements they make. Let me now put you straight. If Charlie is the name given by Cypriots to English Cypriots then I m a Charlie too , and proud of it also.

thank you for your post, i do fully understand and respect what you have said here, and its true............ you dont have to explaine cypriots to me in the uk or in cyprus. also im 50 years old im not a kid.and i have had many many experiances with turkish speaking and greek speaking cypriots, and i say this with the greatest respect when i say it the soo called aducated ones lets say, they actualy lack education in the true sense of the word, becouse even though they have programmed their minds to achieving thigns and educating their minds they remain as us and them,,,,,,,,,,,, when it comes to cyprus.............they remain in the we are turkish they are greeks. we are greeks they are turkish................no one has the mind to think or ask question regarding cyprus .....................the truth is we are the same people even thoug we speak two languages everythign about cypriot if you watch them in a black and white silent film..................can you tell the differance...........i would put my morgage on it you wont, they talk the same they walk the same they even shout the same,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, on a personal note i get offended when i see greek and turkish flags in my homeland my motherland cyprus. i get offended when people speak with me they are talking as if they are extentions of greece and turkey, yet they are cypriots. we neglect cyprus we are to busy being turkish and greek, and yet we are born and we are cypriots.............and many people in this forum attack me why??????becouse i ask valid questions, questions they cannot answer, and why ???????????????becouse they have to defend being turkish or greek where is i dont have to defend anything im cypriot and proud of it............ speakign their language does not make me one of the former conquarers and accupiers whi came to cyprus and murdered my ancesters and raped our woman and made us slaves...........................ima cypriot i do not recognise turkey or greece as our motherland. i have nothing to do with them...............is that being abad cypriot if that amkes me a bad cypriot then i rather be alone and bad then be good like the sheeps that we are in cyprus who fallow the herd and never ask a valid question about their identity

further more reagrding cypriots our history untill recently says we are peasents we used to work the felds and look after the sheeps and so forth .................how many aducated people were there in cyprus 50 years ago ........................................not many lol and the ones who were educated became the agents of greese and turkey
and why did most of the poeple leave cyprus before the troubles strarted its becouse in most cases people of cyprus were cought up in something they coudnt understand how thei nabours and friend were brutaly killed for no reason how people were made to take sides and so forth and who done all this. turkey grece and britain..........the very same people who drew up the zurich agreement, the agreement that was decisive in deviding up cyprus
