8th International Film Fair opens in Tehran
Tehran, Feb 4, IRNA -- The Eighth International Film Fair opened at the Center for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults on Friday.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by the representatives of 24 foreign film production companies from Germany, Japan, Indonesia, Britain, France, Turkey, Malaysia, Lebanon, India, Qatar, Taiwan, the US, Brazil, Pakistan, Syria, the Netherlands, South Korea, Italy, Canada, China, Palestine and Denmark.

Twenty three foreign film production companies from 17 countries and seven from Iran are participating in this year's film fair, which is being held as a sideline event of the 23rd International Fajr Film Festival

Four film producing companies from Britain and three from each of the three states of Germany, India and Turkey are the ones having the highest number of representatives in the fair.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese and Indian film producers with six and five pavilions in the Eighth International Film Fair are the most active ones with respect to the number of pavilions.

Besides, 50 Iranian private and government film production companies attending the event are making use of the available opportunity to either sell their films and television programs to their foreign counterparts or purchase theirs.

The Eighth International Film Fair will continue up to February 10, 2005.

It seems the tensions are cooling and life goes back to normal. At least for a while...
