Howdy colleague, let’s keep our fingers crossed that Vista will get canned like Windows Millenium!

Btw, for those that don’t know Vista only works with Office 2007! I found out the hard way

My customer was spewing today when I told him he had to pay another 93 pounds for the most basic version of Office 2007 and that all previous office CD's he had were useless!!!

YES. And LOADS of other programmes - I lost 2 weeks of data from Quicken... That will take me 2 days to re-input!!!

Why have they blocked so many normal programmes???

I can't imagine any technical reason as backward compatibility was never an issue before so I can only suspect greed! :(

I didn’t know about Office!

It’s a definite no-no upgrade for me then – it’s the first version of Windows that I didn’t immediately want to upgrade to – XP suits me just fine.

BTW the first PC I sold had two Z80’s and ran CP/M, the first PC running M$ was a NEC ‘Advanced PC’ which had (if I remember) an 8088 and two 8” floppy drives.

I've got vista on my new laptop and Xp on the desk top -- after trying vista I'm afraid I'll be changing the laptop to xp very soon -- and yes I'm very very very sure thank you microsoft.

Cheek is from 'cheeky', a word used for describing someone who is being impudent in a teasing naughty kind of way. :D
