Let me just remind you that the last time you attempted something like that Spyros Kyprianou lost to Vasiliou. People like you at the time were also labeling Kyprianou as ethnarch and as the father of all Cypriots.
It looks like you will never learn your lesson...

All presidents come from the center. You know it and I know it and we all know why. The only decent chap you've got is Andros Kyprianou and I'll bet that soon he's going to shift towards the center and ultimately join DIKO. Andros would make a fine president 10-15 years from now but the rest of your stable... forget it!

Get Real is just playing with you. Cyprus doesn't have any ethnarchs. Everybody is judged based on his abilities and performance and the same will happen with Papadopoulos.

The popularity that Papadopoulos has now is the exclusive responsibility of AKEL and DISY in the way they treated the Annan plan. That plan was totally unacceptable to the great majority of GCs but on one hand DISY supported it, and on the other hand AKEL wouldn't be clear about its position. Because of this, even people that continue to vote DISY or AKEL for their own traditional reasons, in the case of the Cyprus problem they trust Papadopoulos more than their own parties.

Well with DIKO it only happened with the support of Akel so please don't be so sure about electing Tpap if going it alone. On the other hand both the DYSI and AKEL elected their canditates at least once.

Speaking on a more serious tone though I see Akel going it with Christofias as a canditate constitute a risk about the outcome of the elections. On the other hand it seems that the "footsoldiers" of akel who have been disappointed by the way Tpap handled the NO vote after the Anan plan seem prepared not to allow the party to support Tpap for another 5 years.

Andros is a very intelligent fellow and he knows very well that if he is to ever have a crack at the presidency he MUST shift towards the center.
