Because of the very hot weather, I left all windows and veranda doors open all day only for mosquitos to come flying in. A huge one was sitting on my computer desk, inches away from my hand, so natural reaction was to squash it, only to see alot of red blood all over the desk, presumably my blood

Until I get mosquito nets for the windows, what is the best way of keeping them away? They are very sneaky over here in doing stealth attacks on me, especially on the face whilst I'm asleep :(

Tried that elephant roll on but they are still getting past it:(

Spray the bedroom with insecticide 2-3 hours before you sleep.

There are special tablets for the mosquitoes that work just fine... I hate mosquitoes and in Cyprus the number is increasing year by year.

Anyway the other day we start talking with one of my friends here about the use of Greek/Turkish/Cypriot coffee. Well she told me that if you burn a little bit of the real coffee...you know the dust thing you use to make the coffee...you will not see any mosquitoes in front of you for hours...well i dont know if that is true but she said is really working.

Burning coffee works like a repellant, but they will come back.

Spray one continuous sray from the centre of the room around in a circle towards the walls, then leave and close the door. This method always kills any moskitos and other things that bite.

The only thing that helps me is a fan! I'd leave it on during the night on rotate so it blew them all away...if you can hack the fan on you all night then it's the most effective..for me it is anyways...

The most effective is to have an aircondition and to keep the windows closed ;) Those things about garlic are urban myths. Eating garlic will repel humans but not mosquitoes ;) :P

DEET is a carcinogenic.

Try pure citronella essential oil mixed with almond oil and rub that over exposed areas.
