can i get broadband in the paphos area? is it expensive? i should be coming over soon and hope to bank online.

Yes you can Richard.
You have a choice of
*cytanet > iChoice > +isp*
OteNet
Primetel
The most expensive option will be the Cytanet one as you will have to pay your line rental + iChoice subscription + isp but you will have it installed quicker than the other 2.
Cheapest option is Otenet which also has the fastest internet in Cyprus.
Then you have Primetel which also offers cable TV.
