Greek Cypriot Side has started work to remove a barricade on its side near Yeşilırmak with the aim of opening a new gate between the two sides.

A temporary box will be built at the point and that it will be removed after the opening of the gate.

But the Turkish Cypriot side insists that priority should be given to the opening of a gate at Lokmaci.


New road should be built in the area before the opening of the Yeşilırmak gate and that additional funds are needed to realize this.
