But as long as you have those prefixes, your actions and words...that define you, end up becoming sterotypes. no?

Yes GG I agree with that, Piratis said that what really matters is not the game with words, is what you really are and not what you say. Words can categorise you. The aim is not that. What you are and who you are is not going to be what you said...but what you are, what are your actions say that you are, your religion, your political philosophy etc. As mem101 said "labels do not define us". Is up to us to change or proof that there are not stereotypes.

GG if somebody call you stupid since you was a child...that doesnt mean that you are. Your actions will prove that you are not.
Kikapu is TC and other TC here told him that he is not TC because he express his believes, which are different from most of the TC here. Being TC means that you have to hate the Greeks the Greek Cypriot and act with patronal way...well no...he is TC born by TC parents grow up like a TC but that doesnt mean that he has to follow everything that TC do

I do agree with Piratis to some extent on the issue of Greek... or Turkish tags to describe Cypriots. But as a Turkish Cyp originate and living in London I find it annoying when I introduce myself as being Cypriot, the reply is always "Oh, so you are Greek then?". I dont have anything against the GC's (at least most of them)I dont think things will change; if it does that will be the beginning of the end, and Osmosis will occur. That is what the Greek speakers want, isnt it? I fail to see many TC's dropping the tag. Yet I am still proud to call myself Cypriot.
