yugoslavia collapsed because tito the communist dictator tried to impose a yugoslav identity on the various ethnic groups in the country, look what happened there? Yugoslavia's origins were based on a false premise that Serb's, Croatians etc would want to live together and not as their own nations, these differences and national identity aspirations eventually caused the country to disintegrate into the various nations which made up the country of yugoslavia...i should know about this as I studied yugoslavia at university....an unfortunate side effect of all this is the well known macedonian issue

you are in denial, of course there is no cypriot ethnicity, we are simply hellenes/greeks from cyprus. Sure, we are also cypriot and I am proud to say this to others but this is the same as when a cretan says they are cretan or a sicilian says they are sicilian, we are all greeks pure and simple from an ethnic/language/cultural point of view. Granted that of course we have some differences from the mainlanders such as the dialect, this is the same for Rhodians who speak a dialect very similar to the Cypriots. Of course now we are from the country of Cyprus and this is a reality we have got used to due to the geo-political status of Cyprus caused mainly by the big powers and our proximity to Turkey, this does not mean we are less Greek........

Of course Cypriots exist in a regional sense and we love being Cypriots, but we are also proud of our hellenic heritage, this is what makes us proud to be Cypriots, My pappou was a kypreos and so was his Pappou before him too, what does this show? That we are not Greeks or we or our forefathers did not believe they were Greek...Comon show some intelligence, I recommend 2 books you can read ie. The Making of Modern Cyprus by Dr Stavros Panteli or The Cyprus Conspiracy by O'Malley and Craig. And by the way what Im saying is not kalamaristika its kypriaka wisdom

Why do you want to dissociate yourselves from the glorious Hellenic history to be close to Turkish Cypriots?

What did the Turks achieve that you want to be so close to them by erasing your true history?

I want to know why they want to be dissociated with Greece and Greek history and associated in a fake ethnic history with Turkish Cypriots. I mean how stupid are those people. Does anyone in the world admire Turkish Cypriot history? Do colleges have majors in philosophy or the Humanities or treachery 101(or How to get your homeland invaded by a foreign army and pretend you are still brothers with the displaced when it comes time to queue up for services the ROC provides) with Turkish Cypriot visiting refugee professors?
