Hey Kikapu

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby BirKibrisli » Wed May 02, 2007 10:41 am

I just love your logic,Zan...

If one criticises someone and wants them to change their ways for their own good, then he/she must hate them...

I guess you never criticise your wife or children for the fear that people might think you hate them...A very mature response indeed...

Criticising my views is one thing. Calling me a pathological nut is quite another. Think on it because you have made me so angry that I am VERY late for work and have to work on a bit. I wait for your mature response.

Birkibrisli, I admire your personal point of view and great gesture of humanitarianism, however I would encourage you my friend to seek re-claim your mother's land now if you can. If you want to assist in the struggle for a united cypriot identity and people, perhaps you could do great humanitarian things by owning the land. Perhaps a camping ground that offers free camp like accommodation to disadantaged children of both sides of the fence. So that they can learn about each other and demystifie the dominant story about the other? just a thought.

Food for thought certainly....thanks dear humanist...

The land is in the Paphos mountains beyond Polis...a perfect location for a campsite away from the maddening crowds...I will talk to my mother and sisters asap... 8)

I did not call you a "pathological nut"...I said your fear of the GCs is pathological....there is a difference you know.

I apologise for getting you angry.Try not to take everything too seriously,mate...I know we all feel very touchy about the Cyprob, but if we don't try to take the emotionality out of it sometimes,we could get into deep trouble...Take it from someone who knows.

I see a person squirming in his seat. I am not even going to go into that useless explanation you made about my fear being pathological and not me.

ZAN WROTE :REFERING TO MILTIADES.
""""""He is a purist that wants nothing more than a Greek administered Cyprus with little tales about us all being Cypriots together. All that is, except for the ones that HE decides are not. Bir is proving him self over and over again to be not what he says he is. He puts himself out as a humanitarian all loving Buddhist priest when he shares his hate of anything not Cypriot (in Miltiades terms) and has even a splash of Turkishness. """"

You disgust me with your sickening and full of hatred attitude. Are you that bloody thick or are you merely trying to annoy me . How many times do I have tell you stupid that I WILL REJOICE WHEN CYPRUS HAS A TURKISH CYPRIOT AS IT'S PRESIDENT. The president of Cyprus not bloody Turkey. Get it into your head stop calling me Greek I M NOT A FUCKING GREEK. IM A GREEK CYPRIOT. YOU on the other hand are a TURK , not a T/C , Birk and Kikapu are T/Cs.You have an inferiority complex and it shows.; Now do me a favour and go take a run and a jump , its only 40 miles away to your motherland you may just make it in time to join the glorious Turkish army in its efforts to dismantle democracy.

You keep saying one thing and doing another. That is my problem with you. Stop trying to sell me faulty goods...Thats all. You still don't get it when I tell you that you do not offend me by calling me a Turk. I am A Turk....A Turkish Cypriot. Many people have asked you to stop being so offensive...Until then you reap what you sow. You even offend Bir and Kiks. They don't like the word Turkish before their Cypriotness. Tut tut!

You are clatching at straws now,Zan...Miltiades is not insulting me when he says I am a Turkish Cypriot...That is what my identity is.Ethnically I am Turkish, but my nationality is Cypriot.I was born in Cyprus.Cyprus is my motherland.Turkey is the motherland of my Turkish cousins. My first allegance is to Cyprus and her people. All of them, including the Greek Cypriots ,those who do not see me as their enemy.I can't help being ethnically Turkish, though I also acknowledge that my genes are very different to those Turkomans who wandered into anatolia around 900AD...
I don't physically look like them, and as a Cypriot my culture today is very different to theirs...Your problem is you want to turn the clock back to 900AD.That is what you understand by being Turkish.coming from someone who lived most of his life in England, that is a cognitive distortion of monumental dimensions...Get some help soon.Or learn how to relax. You are going to blow yourself up,or explode otherwise. And I will be sad to hear about it... :(

I have never denied that I'm a Greek Cypriot , but a distinctly different from being just Greek .There is such entity as an English Greek , English Cypriot Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot but above all I'm a Cypriot who considers Bir , Kikapu , Ahmed , Pashias , an all Cypriots , T/Cs or G/Cs to be my compatriots , my fellow Cypriots with whom one day I hope to be proudly supporting Cyprus in all fields be it athletics , sport , international events encompassing all Cypriots.
To highlight the fact that those born in Cyprus and whose parents , grandparents and theirs before them also took their first breath in Cyprus is not a contradiction but a reality.Bir was born about 6 or so miles from where I was born , when you consider the vastness of our world , Bir and I are species of a tiny little space of the planet earth , his ancestry came from Turkey and mine perhaps from Greece , but we both took roots in Cyprus and lived in tranquil surroundings for years until the nationalistic fervour ignited the clouded passions of our people edged on by demagogues and foreign influenced conspirators. I have stated many times before that I'm closer to the T/Cs than I'm to the mainland Greeks. Have been emailed abuse as a result of this. I maintain my commitment which is not politically influenced but shaped by realities and the inevitability of future conflict unless we embrace each other and ditch the "motherland " aspirations responsible for all of our ills.

Finally , Zan asks me to stop being offensive. I'm known as a man who does not tolerate stupidity and political correctness. I see things as they are displayed. When the absurd is presented as gold plated shit then I refer to it as that. I have views that you can respect for their forthrightness or condemn them for being different to yours. It is not offensive to call a paedophile a sadistic pervert neither is it offensive to refer to you as stupid for not allowing in your arguments the possibility that our nation can unite as one and avert the dreadful consequences that will follow some time in the future should partition or annexation of the occupied part of Cyprus takes place. The future generations will be constantly reminded of their ancestral lands and just like the Palestinian scenario , conflict will arise again . I don't want my grandchildren to go through what Kikapu , Bir and thousands more of our people G/Cs and T/Cs went through. The size of the Turkish army will not matter . The future generations will be inflamed and will resist .
