Turkey's biggest problem numbers over one million – and 35,000 of them are in Cyprus right now. Talk about your two-edged swords!

Turkey's military is around 520,000 strong and I don't know where some of you get this 1M+ from.

The Turkish Armed Forces is the second largest standing armed force in NATO, after the United States Armed Forces, with a combined strength of 1,043,550 uniformed personnel.

Wikipedia

They tend to be accurate, and when they know there's a dispute over the content of an article, they will say so. They quote as their source the BBC.

The Wiki is full of errors because every Tom, Dick, and Harry, can write up an article there. If you want a good laugh look up the "TRNC" GDP and per Capita figures on the Wiki... it's a joke. :)

Anyway, here's a much more reliable website for the world's military side of things...

the begining of the end...

Postby Strahd » Mon Apr 30, 2007 9:56 am

Yes this is the beginning of the end for Turkey.

Turkey will be guided into a civil war undermined by the USA so as to create the Kurdish state and stop the wishes of Turkey to control northern Iraq and its oil.

the poison has one name : kemalism and kemal's fascist regime, he is dead, time to bury his ideology as well. Kemalists stole turkey for 50 years and AKP brought welfare, does it matter or not?
