Question: Cyprus and the island's Greek inhabitants?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Wake up Sahin! Wake up!

Haven't you heard the news yet?

We (the whole of Cyprus -including the occupied by Turkey part) have already united with the whole of the EU, including Greece! What for the need to unite with Greece separately?

And you think Sahin and his likes care if me or you will "disassociate" our selves from the notion that "Greece is perceived as our motherland?"

What he cares about is how to provoke and irritate all of us with his one liners, and he just laughs with your attempts to argue rationally with him! Do you think he is here to have a rational conversation with you or anyone else?

I'm sure I must have read that Simitis referred to the Greek Cypriot Republic of Cyprus's (GCRoC) accession to the EU as ENOSIS.

The reason I asked was if the Greeks of Cyprus truly gave up the desire for union with Greece, then why does Papadopuouls, an EOKA member who has taken an oath to struggle for Cyprus's union with Greece, have such strong support?

Additionally, when the Greeks of Cyprus rejected the Annan, I saw Greece's flag being waved as if Greece had triumphed in a football match.

Also, the response to my original question refers to 'Cypriots' ... can anyone provide me with the definition of what it means to be a 'Cypriot' --- ethnically speaking ... language, culture, religion?

You will find the anwer you want, once you define to us what an American is, what an Australian is, what a Canadian is, what a south African is, what a British is, and finally (here is the tricky part for you,) what a Turk is!

Greek Cypriots in their majority do not want union with Greece. Beyond that we live in a democratic country and every individual is free to think, say, and fly whatever flags he desires. There is nothing illegal or criminal with that.

What is criminal and illegal is the occupation of the northern part of Cyprus by Turkey, and your excuses ("oh, I've seen Greek flags in a stadium so it means I can now kill you and steal your homes") are as lame as they can get.

End the illegalities, give back the land you stole, stop the crimes, and feel free to think, say, fly flags or whatever else you want within the limits of the law.
