I don't know any one TC or GC millionaire who has done anything to help unite Cyprus. But then this is not suprising because the rich are a minority, so finding a rich pro-unionist cypriot is especially difficult because - in my personal experience - pro-unionist neo-cypriots are hard to come by (other than on this forum). Do any of us know any millionaires who have done anything for Cyprus (both ROC and TRNC) in general? Whether it be for the economy, for public services, for employment, for tourism, or whatever? I personally do not.

Birkibrisli is right. Those TCs and GC who made their living and became wealthy in countries other than Cyprus have shifted their allegiances and no longer care about Cyprus. This is due largely to their reasons for leaving in the first place. They did not leave because they thought they would be able to gain higher ground and a better position to help Cyprus and its people. They left to find a better life for themselves and their immediate family as growuptcs said - and they found it. Does this make them traitors to Cyprus? free_cyprus, who has tried to "buy your loyality?" And in what why? I hope you don't mind being specific on this.

growuptcs, why do hope that no one would have invested in a "war torn country" as you so lovingly put it? The issues brought up by free_cyprus here are above "bottom line" thinking so to speak. He's talking about caring for our island, its inhabitants and its future.

I'm just asking if you can be more specific about these comments. In what way have "millionnaires" practised divide and rule to their own (financial?) benefit?

And how did they try to buy you? What were you offered? If this is too personal thats fair enough but I'm curious so I have to ask.

its not about finanial gain your either greek or turkish in their eyes and if your turkish and workign with greeks they wont help if your greek and working with turkish they wont help i promise you i know this from my own experiance..... they have devide policy in the uk

free_cyprus, you call it practicing dividing and ruling, I call it upperclass. Their children go to private schools, and most likely get a higher education than children whose parents aren't that well off. Theres no reason to take it the way you do and stereotype them as the evildoers. They just want the best for their families. Don't be a hater man, be civil about it. If the shoes were reversed you would be doing the same thing.
No offense free_cyprus, but I know that your a Turk instead of a GC because your way of thinking is not a GC, just purely TC. Very undemocratic. This is why the Cyprob will remain a problem. The majority of you think in an uncivilized manner and only your government can change that, no one else. Your just pawns. Sometimes the truth sucks to hear.

please do me the curtesy and dont make me a turk. you dont know me and what your writing to me is not relevent to waht im talking about..................i understand about resposibility to educate their children ect im not talkign about that and if you cannot understand what im talkign about then we are doomed .........................and one more point its true some fo them send their kids to private school to be educated and yet theys till come out of that expensive education with the brains of peasents becouse their parents make them into turks and greeks becouse they speak the language........... they never ask how can we people of cyprus an island that has been invaded and ruled for thousands of years by outsiders suddenly become turks and greeks. lol there is adifrence between speaking and being one of them.............. we speak their language but no way i except we are one of the mainlanders or even come from there or our ancesters for that matter

So you got your chance to make your money and be a pheasant with money. Your just in Cyprus and they're in London. Why knock them, if you live good in Cyprus like your saying with your 800,000 pound home overlooking the sea and your slk. Question is did you earn it or sell off GC property to get what you have today? If you earned it yourself I dont think you would be hating on anybody.
