Now putting that aside, I think that we can all agree that the land that GC's and TC's share is called Cyprus. Right? Now the homes that mostly everyone living in N.Cyprus WAS and IS GC owned land, Right? So no matter what country your from or anyone else for that matter, there are different nationalities that OWN their homes and land in different countries. Whats with the self-centered laws that the "TRNC" has that ONLY Turks can be a majority there? Can I explain the answer in one word, brainwashing. Now in any other country do they have these special Turkish priviledge packages that violates everyone BUT Turks. Answer is no. So if you cant take the heat, kiss good-bye to the union.
growuptcs - the same can be said for the Greeks of Cyprus. Firstly, an agreed upon constitution was not implemented. Then "church and state" are blurred as the elected President is the Greek community's archbishop who also happened to be the political and spiritual leader of a terrorist group. The President / Archbishop then proceeds to fill all the key positions that allocated to the Greeks of Cyprus with EOKA henchmen and proceeds to establish an underground organisation Akritas that has the sole aim of again breaching the constitution in order to facilitate the annexation of Cyprus by Greece. The execution of the Akritas Plan results in the marginalisation of the bi-communal partner (the Turks) into less than 3 percent of the island's territory and we are then systematically targetted for the next 10 years until Makarios unconstitutional government (who by chance passes an ENOSIS Resolution) is overthrown by coup that placed Sampson, another well known terrorist / anti-Turk henchman, into the presidency?
Now lets cut to the chase, if a lasting and acceptable 'solution' is to be achieved, the Greeks will have to compromise with their Turkish counterparts and recognise us as your equal partners. You can either choose to work with us or choose to ignore us ... but we are not going to accept anything less than communal equality and shared sovereignty.
In the end, there will always be two states on the island. Whether this be two separate and sovereign independent states (as it is now) or anything that resembles a confederal / federal solution is up to the politicians and the people. It appears, however, that the Greeks of Cyprus do not want to compromise - Osmosis is really not an option.
