Yes,what have you started,DA???

What or where is Kakopetria???

Follow the main road that exits Nicosia from the West and all the way to the mountains and you'll find... Evrihou, Sina Oros, and then Kakopetria. 45 min drive.

I look forward to it,GR...You'll need to add a 22-hour flight from Oz,but I am sure it will be worth it...When we visited Trodos as school kids some of us wrote/carved our names on certain pine trees...I wonder if I will find mine??? :)

I loathed those flights to/from Australia... glad I'm out of there. :)

There's probably thousands of Pine trees on the Troodos range... good luck finding it!

I guess it would be close to some sort of picnic area or something. Maybe a place called "Pladania". Does that ring a bell?

Send me a PM of what you carved and I'll go look the next time I go there... :)

Kakopetria is a lovely village on the foothills of the troodos mountains. Fine forrests and plenty running water. I suspected a dear "friend" of mine suffered from food poisoning. I was fine, as I have a strong and large stomach. I attributed (perhaps mistakenly) my friends problem to something he ingested. If I am wrong what was it GR? I am still bewildered. I have thought of nothing else since our trip. :( So have I been uninvited for summer? :( :( :(

Hey...GR and DA do you know each other in person???Great...

GR...Where did you live in Oz,mate? And when did you forsake the arse end of the world??? :D

As for Trodos...Something like Platres rings a bell...
Look for a heart with an arrow through it...you know the symbol...with the letters M and G in it...M is me and G was my childhood sweatheart... :)

Good luck with the search...It would be a miracle if it is still there and you find it...circa 1961-62  8)
