I am sure you will get some welcome messages soon...you know that we have lives beyond this forum...sometimes we get busy around here and sometimes we get busy with our lives...but dont be like that...try to earn the attention...if you really hopping for that. Ok some people they believe that is too much for them to say some good words to someone else and they often insult people that they do that...personal experience... so watch your back.

ANGELTRACEY wrote:I am new here and joined as it looked quite an interesting forum about Cyprus, but I am finding more and more that whatever message I go onto, I seem to find lots of nastiness, bad language etc, which I think is totally unneccessary. I belong to other sites about Cyprus and they are sooo friendly.
Is this forum about sniping at each other, racism, childishness, and pure nastiness, because, if it is, I do not want to be a member.
When I joined, there was no welcome message on the forum, like other websites. Do you not welcome new members?
Didn't want to have to resort to writing this, but I felt as if I had no choice.
This forum really isn't giving a very good impression of itself

Don't let a few narrow minded people put you off what is a very fine forum
We don't all bite honest, i hope your time here is better than you feel your start was.
And from sunny UK welcome to the forum

Thanks Lena and Steve

Lena, I'm not hoping for attention, just a bit of friendliness towards each other. There's enough bad feeling etc in this world as it is.
Anyway, I appreciate your kind words and will stick it out

Free_cyprus the ten thousand members of this forum are not only Cypriots. There are lots of Greeks and UK as well. Also there are people from Turkey, India, Russia, America etc...dont turn the conversation always to political conversation.

Hi Angeltracey

Welcome to the Forum; do not be put off by first appearances here, it does get a bit of getting used to. Although we have many members it tends to be the 'firebrands' who post most.

There are some really excellent people here with great knowledge of Cyprus and many other things besides; stick with us, I am sure you will enjoy it.

One of the great things here is the principle of free speech, but even that must be within normal rules of decency; sometimes people start bad-mouthing and then a Mod or Admin come along with their big stick :-)
