Kikapu's time in Cyprus........

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Kikapu, thank you so much for telling us of your experiences in Cyprus! I have enjoyed reading your stories so much (And not just your trip to Cyprus stories) you write with such warmth and honesty...it's great! :)

I'm so happy that after so many years you finally made it back to your homeland and I hope that this won't be a one off, that you'll visit many, many more times! :D

(God, wouldn't it be great if, the next time you go to Cyprus, it's one country, instead of split in two...but hey, one can only hope I guess... :( )

I always thought haram was a religious thing? Like blasphemy. But yeah 'haram olsun' pretty much means may you not benefit from it.

As far as your vitriolic comments "and never think about TCs as being his own people."" Let me refresh your memory that his OWN people are the Cypriot people just as they are my people , T/C and G/Cs alike. You consider your self , as you have on many occasions stated , a Turk , that sees Cyprus as another foreign country . Well mate you are wrong. Kikapu has got more Cypriotness in his little finger than you have in your entire body.

.

My good friend Miltiades is absolutely correct, in what he says. If the Partitionist and the Propagandist had an once of integrity, they would not have challenged him, but since they have, I will have to respond.

Since most of you have British Passports, look at page 3, article 6 on Dual Nationalities. " British National who are also Nationals of another country cannot be protected by Her Majesty's Representatives against the authorities of that country. If, under the laws of that country, they are liable for any obligation ( such as Military Service), the fact that they are British nationals, does not exempt them from it".

For American Citizens, it's even worse.
Pages 4 & 5,

Article 8. Loss of U:S Citizenship: "Under certain circumstances, you may lose your US citizenship by (3) serving in the armed forces of a foreign state".

Dual Citizens.
Article 9. Very much same as the British Passport, with warning about being "conscription for military service for it's citizens, while in that countries jurisdiction".

We all know that the "TRNC" is not a country, but I did not want to deal with it.

You are still ignoring the fact that you may visit the TRNC for upto 90days a year without having to do miltary service. In time due to your age you will no longer have to do any miltary service and allowing for the fact you will never come to live in the TRNC whats your problem? You may visit without any problems but you know what its better that you never see the north as you will find and promote all its faults to gain points from your GC bum chums.

Why is then that my nephew ( turkish cypriot) was held in northern cyprus and refused permission to fly home to the UK because they said he had to do his national service? He missed his plane and had to provide faxed information to inform them he was still at school in the UK (he had just had his 18th birthday while over in Cyprus? It took over a week to sort that out and his passport was withheld so that he could not leave? This was last year by the way

Kikapu...Thanks for your moving story, and my special thanks for kissing the ground for me in Paphos...Not that I doubt it but it would be unreal to see a photo of that if someone took one.Not in the open forum obviously...

I couldn't help but cry when you mentioned the story of the old GC women and their heartache over their lost homes and land...My mother is 86 now and she hasn't seen her village in the South for over 40 years too.She says she doesn't want to go there,as she is afraid of dropping dead with grief...

You have certainly given me a lot to think about. As some here know I have not been home for 40 years too(not including my trips to the TRNC).
I now know that I have no other option but follow your example and exorcise some long-standing ghosts in my motherland...At the risk of being called Birkopoulos by VP and accused of being a GC imposter too... :)

Haram is indeed a religious concept...Meaning anything that is not sanctioned by the Koran...Its opposite is Halal (or Helal in Turkish).
It is an Arabic word.Haram applies to the worst kind of sins people can commit.Like incest, murder, theft etc...If one committs even one sin that is Haram he/she has no chance of ever going to heaven...

You have all been warned...

PS.No amount of "debriefing" by VP and Zan will diminish the effect of your story, dear Kikapu...I embrace you warmly and kiss your eyes (gozlerinden operim!!!) for having the courage not only to go through with this trip, but also for telling us your story in such clear and warm way...congratulations ,my fellow Cypriot... 8)

Words of wisdom my dear friend Bir . I look forward to visiting your village end of this month. And YES to the doubters I say there are Cypriots , Turkish and Greek Cypriots who posses enough humility to give them strength in expressing their feelings and above all to say to each other , brother I'm sorry for all the wrongdoings of our site , sorry that our people have been deprived of their ancestral homes just as your mother has , and hand on heart we say to each other please forgive me and give me courage to go ahead and spread the word. One Cyprus one people one nation of equal Cypriots .

Why should any of you think any different? Kikapu has made it clear what you guys think of TCs. We are the devil. We are greedy and lie, even his own family. There is not a good one amongst us. This is clear in every thing he writes. Why would you want to ever live with us and if unification was achieved why would you want us in your country.

You have no idea how much this attitude is working against unification. I started off my first post on ATCA telling them off for their nationalistic views and the demonisation of the GC people. You can ask Alexios on this if you doubt my word. From the moment I started on other other forums I have been pushed further and further away from being a Cypriot, in the fake Miltiades sense, because of lies like Kikapu pretends are his stories and the blind backing he and others like him get from the rest of you. There is no route to unification through the nationalist door and the door through the so-called Cypriots, has firmly been shut by the deception you guys are flaunting without shame. There is only one door left and that has "repentance" written on it with small modest letters with humility written on every letter. It is one thing to want something. It is quite another to achieve it by lies and deceit. You should all hang your heads in shame at supporting such a blatant and biased report in Kikapus' summing up. The mob mentality rears its ugly head once more and sends a shiver down my spine that will be with me all day. I am ashamed to have Cypriot blood at this moment when it is clear that we do not deserve such a beautiful island to ransack and ruin and fight over. Our history from the moment we were given our rights to form a republic has been a disgrace. We claim maturity and democracy but we do not know the meaning no matter how many languages we can say it in. Shame on us Cyprus, shame

You have no idea how sad I feel at the moment GR. As usual your powers of perseption let you down. I have let it be known in the past that I have posted on the ATCA site...Wake up. I still have not got a nationalistic bone in my body but know what I must fight for.
