Where did you go? What did you do most of the time? What was the circumstances that you mention???

Hi LENA,

Spent few day in Larnaca, few days in Nicosia, few days in Paphos, few days in Limassol, and few days in Agia Napa, as well as driving 1558 Kilometers through most parts of the RoC, including the Troodos forest and mountains.

TOTALLY..................

Might as well start as we mean to go on........

Did not visit the north and has made up his mind already. How can you tell what a particular cake tastes like if all you do is stand outside the shop with your nose pressed up against the glass. Armchair explorer would be an apt term I think.

Hello Zan,

Thanks for the welcome back.

My experiences was regarding the RoC that you and VP often state matters as facts, towards the TC's by the GC's. I did not need to go to the "TRNC" to taste the flavour of the cake, as you put it.

Perhaps it is you, who have not bothered to explore your own senses, to find some truth to your own rumours.

I really don't want to spoil it for you Kikapu and I really mean that. I am sure you are excited about telling your stories of your holiday and I think you should do that. My post above was mostly tongue in cheek at you and Karma. Please tell your stories......(In the vein of Kikapu) But the propaganda police will be watching.

I hope you will be able to handle the truth dear Zan.

I wanted to go to the "TRNC" so that I could have seen how things are there, but every time I made inquiries regarding the military service, I received different information from individuals as well as from officials. I was even told, I could be kept there against my will, to complete my NS. I tried to get clearer answers even just before I went to Cyprus, but once again, got just another version. I'm not in the habit of putting my welfare in the hands of others, specially, where "Rule of Law" is not equal to each person. It is more like "who you know and who you blow" than who you are, that will get you what you want. I did not want to end up in a situation, where I'm regarded as a "citizen" of the "TRNC", a unrecognized State, where the British and the American ( my other Nationalities) embassies could not provide any assistance to me.

I could have taken a chance and gone there I suppose, and perhaps nothing bad would have happened. I choose not to take a chance.
