Hi.

Can anyone tell me how the driving licence test for motorcycle looks like? I already got myself a learner's licence, but I was thinking about getting a regular one, and I want to prepare myself and my bike for the exam. What kind of manoeuvres are usually performed on the exam? Is there anything special I need to do to my motorcycle to prepare it for the exam?

You go to a course. The examiner watches you ride the course, cones, turning on tight corners etc and stops. You get your licence. My husband did his test while the examiner smoked a cigarette and chatted to his friend on his mobile the whole time. He didn't even notice my husband had finished.

Basically pulling a good wheelie in front of the examiner with your cigarette in the corner of your mouth should clinch it no problems!

Where are the centres in Larnaca? If somebody who has never ridden on a motorbike before, where would they go to learn in Larnaca?

I did my test in 1983 on my Honda XL500S The examiner asked me to reconsider taking the test on that "monster" but I declined using a crappy 250cc that the previous guy offered!

Anyway, I had to do a couple of sharp U-turns without putting my foot down at next to zero speed and a couple of sudden breaks after you accelerate once the examiner gives you a sign and I had to stop the bike within a specified distance which was only achievable if you drop down gears very quickly...
