A very enlighning read.

The zans, vps, shah, piratis sotos and nikiforos should take notice to the question regarding BBF.

Also some interesting bits about security feeling and perceived threats to peace.

I like the part about the "trust" issue...

Like they say, those who cannot trust, cannot be trusted!

Us TCs are too bloody soft i tell you, i don't know whether we are naive or just too dam confident

And for the ever so relentless supporters of unity, i suggest you take a close look at the section about "possible solutions", seems like the "true Cypriot" concept really is nothing but a fairy tale for the diaspora and certain little girls!

Interesting survey, but what is your point about BBF exactly?

BBF can mean very different things to different people since it is just a vague term.

Was Annan plan BBF? If you call that a BBF then 76% rejected it, not just 35%.

I said many times that I would accept a BBF solution that satisfied some criteria, but obviously I wouldn't just accept anything that was labeled "BBF". Would you?

The basic criteria for me are:
1) proportional land distribution of 18%-82%
2) A true federation as it exists in other federal countries, e.g. USA
3) To be based on democratic principles and restore the human rights of all Cypriots.

I did not see much that surprised me really. I think an analysis of this forum would produce similar results.

The one thing that strikes me is that it seems TCs simply want partition. Yes, they voted for the Annan Plan, but that doesn't really say much considering what type of Plan that was. Again, looking at the Report:

67% of TCs find a unitary state unacceptable.
59% find a two-state solution satisfactory; with a further 21% finding it tolerable.
45% find a BBF satisfactory. (With probably an Annan style version of a BBF in mind, as they voted for this last time).

Compare to GCs:

72% find a unitary state satisfactory.
73% find a two-state solution unsatisfactory.
19% find a BBF satisfactory; with 47% finding it tolerable.

I always hear people like Miltiades saying that the TCs he meets want a unified Cyprus and have the same aspirations as him etc; and people like Zan and VP are the minority view; but time and time again, the Polls prove him wrong.

I ask GCs, are we wasting our time trying to unify with a group that clearly prefers a two state solution? I get the feeling our efforts would be better spent trying to negotiate as much of our land back as poosible; so that we at least get a proportionate 80/20 split or something similar.

These Reports make me depressed.

Oh come one Simon, its not like you actually like us or anything, you just want your properties back and to dominate the entire island again, no one really gives a shit about us...

But hey dont worry, we can still be good friends :)

Do you really mean that Simon? Do you give up? Do you want to sell us all out?
