How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby zan » Fri Apr 27, 2007 1:24 am

Anyways. Time for bed. Give you a chance to go over the events of tonight and for it to all sink in. Don't be too hard on your self when the realisation sets in though. We all make fools of ourselves sometimes. You just do it more often. I suppose it can be seen as a virtue....By the generous of heart........

I have to admit that I am a little confused. I thought I knew you and put you down to being an intelligent person that used that intelligence to be disruptive. I ignored the many times and the many people that have told you to get Real but I feel now they were right. You seem to be living in a world of your own where you see victory in failure. You seem to hang on every word, all be it only your own words and see nothing else. I can't think of anything else to say to your deluded and strange world where you get beaten by the likes of erolz to the point of insignificance and you still claim a win. See you later little man but I am afraid I have lost any respect for your abilities. Sorry.

turkish_cypriot wrote:I know Natty I was just being heartless to see how some of the GCs like it because I hear people calling TCs criminals, thiefs etc on a daily basis even though most of us are doing nothing illegal!

Would you not agree that TCs are also suffering from the repercussions of the war? It goes both ways but some GCs are completely ignorant to this. That was all I meant, I didn't mean what I said literally but it's not nice when people generalise all TCs as criminals but when it comes to pulling the wool over their eyes then we're conveniently called "compatriots".

I understand TC, it's not fair to generalise and it can be very insensitive...but I have to say I see that from both 'sides', someone say's something insensitive and then people go on the defensive and then insults start flying all over the place, and of course I Include myself in that, buts that's why I wrote that thread about trying to empathise and sympathise with each other, I think that if we have a level of understanding it would make having a discussion much easier.

I’m also completely aware that it wasn’t just the GC’s that suffered during and after the invasion, you only have to see the disgusting acts that happened in Tochni and other TC villages and look at the fact that it wasn’t only Greek Cypriots who lost their homes but many Turkish Cypriots as well, and also look today at what’s happening in the North with the mainland Turks to see that, but I really would like to know more about how your average TC felt during, and immediately after the invasion.. I can tell you for example, how your average GC felt (well I think I can..:)). I mean the vast majority who lost their homes, had nothing to do with the Inter communal conflict, and yet they lost everything on a level, because of that period (well that's what we get told sometimes, but I think the pictures much bigger than that, this is when all those other elements in the Cyprus problem come into it...), bearing in mind that many Greek Cypriots also died during the 60’s…like my great grandfather for example, the one I told you about who wept when he heard what had happened to his Turkish Cypriots friends in the neighbouring village, he lost everything and yet he wasn’t really involved in the past events… I think that is why there is that level of bitterness, because the majority were just normal people trying to get on with their lives, having to deal with one thing after another, and then finally the invasion…(And I guess I'm speaking for all Cypriots when I say that…).

Yes, it is fair to generalize. Most Turks with very few exceptions are all rotten to their minorities or peoples that they invade.

Until you find one of these exceptions handle them as they should be handled.
