Bull terrier type dog in urgent need of a good home

Postby junemichael » Tue Apr 24, 2007 5:53 pm

Beautiful natured, friendly dog is in desperate need for a very responsible, loving and secure home for the rest of his life. About a year old. Unfortunately this dog has been dumped because he got too big and is now in a municipality shelter with only 2 weeks before he will be destroyed. Can you give him the loving home life he deserves, if so call TODAY on 99786403/25311329.

If I lived over there I would definitely have a dog from you, my heart goes out to all those dogs you have without homes. We move over next year which I know isn't much help now, but I will be looking to have another dog then. We have one dog, and unfortunately lost our younger one last year to tumours on her liver, but have so far managed to resist having another dog until we relocate next April, as we know how many strays you have there and want to give one a home. You are doing a grand job, I wish I could help come and look after them.

As the proud new owners of this beautiful boy, now named 'Beau', we would like to say a big thankyou to June and to Leo for the dedication & hard work they put into saving the lives of stray and abandoned animals.

If anyone is considering getting a four-legged companion we would urge you to contact June & support the incredible efforts she, and other animal loving people like her, are making on behalf of the many deserving dogs and cats looking for a loving home. If you are unable to rehome an animal, perhaps you can provide much needed support by volunteering to help out at a shelter or by donating food, blankets, feeding bowls, etc or by making a cash donation.

Once again, thank you to all involved. We are overjoyed with our gorgeous new member of the family.

Stray's Prayer

Dear God, please send me somebody who'll care!
I'm tired of running, I'm sick with despair.
My body is aching, it's so racked with pain,
and dear God I pray, as I run in the rain.
That someone will love me and give me a home,
a warm cozy bed and a big juicy bone.
My last owner tied me all day in the yard
Sometimes with no water, and god that was hard.
So I chewed my leash, and I ran away.
To rummage in garbage and live as a stray.
But now I'm tired and hungry and cold,
and I'm so afraid that I'll never grow old.

They've chased me with sticks and hit me with stones,
while I run the streets just looking for bones!
I'm not really bad, God, please help if you can,
or I have become just a "Victim of Man!"
I'm wormy dear God and I'm ridden with fleas,
and all that I want is an Owner to please!

If you find one for me God, I'll try to be good,
and I won't chew their shoes, and I'll do as I should.
I'll love them, protect them and try to obey....
when they tell me to sit, to lie down or to stay!
I don't think I'll make it too long on my own,
cause I'm getting so weak and I'm so all alone.

Each night as I sleep in the bushes I cry,
cause I'm so afraid God, that I'm gonna die.
And I've got so much love and devotion to give,
that I should be given a new chance to Live!
So dear God, please answer my prayer,
and send me someone who will REALLY care..

The dog could not have gone to a better family - thank you so much for saving his life! The poem is very touching and hope it captures the hearts of others to help save more dogs.

Lets hope we can find more wonderful people to take more wonderful dogs as there are still other dogs that are at the local municipality shelter that will be put to sleep within 7-14 days including two mothers with their puppies and also the 100 dogs at the District shelter that are desperate for volunteers to go 4 hours per day to feed and clean or money to be able pay someone to do this and of course donations of food, blankets, bowls and toys.

Congrats Amlek. He is a beauty. Very moving prayer too. How many times have you seen those lonesome strays wandering along the side of the motorway, sniffing, trying to find their way home???? I wish I had enough money and land to take them ALL in. Fact is it will never. People buy these small puppies and once the novelty has worn off they are disgarded like an unwanted toy. :(
