Atlantica Oasis is still rubble/bomb site in my opinion !!!!

Postby mummieslittlemunchkins » Mon Jun 18, 2007 10:55 pm

If you have a look on the "Thompsons Website" for this hotel, they are lying saying that the hotel is now open !!!

Its still rubble & a bomb site though really !

They are still showing photos of the hotel from before the renovations.

I'll eat my hat if the hotel ever re-opens for this summer season !

The photos I have of the hotel at the end of May show a bomb site, and my updates today from locals who live nearby tell me that nothing has changed !

Hi, just wondered if anybody knows the situation about whether the atlantica gardens (apartments across the road from the hotel) are open or are they being refurbished as well? Has anybody been recently?

We are due to stay on 21st july and wondered what the situation was. I called in to Thomsons travel agents a fortnight ago and they said as far as they knew the hotel was up and running with no problems!!!!!! I told them NO WAY , but they still did not believe me, they said they are told of any problems right from the start! I am glad i don't work for them!!

Anyway if anyone has any info i would be very gratful

Atlantica Oasis / Gardens

Postby mummieslittlemunchkins » Tue Jun 19, 2007 9:25 am

From what Ive heard the Atlantica Gardens (across the road from the Atlantica Oasis) has not had any refurbishment work done - However if you read your info re this hotel, you are supposed to use all the facilities of the Atlantica Oasis Hotel across the road from you

However if the Atalantica Oasis is still a bombsite, then my dispute would be that you will not be able to use their facilities at all !

From what I know, youll be fairly ltd using the Atlantica Gardens facilities on their own, without being able to use the Atlantica Oasis facilities too

I booked my parents into the Atlantica when they came to visit last year and they didn;t like it at all, the pool area was way too crowded and the water was freezing, in september as the pool is in the shade most of the day.

They have been to several hotels here and that was by far the worst.it was 30 pounds a night and we thought that was way too much for the hotel!!

The Miremare is much better.

Jas,

To be fair, it depends on what you are looking for. We have kids and for kids it cannot be beaten, with the Kids clubs, and the Entertainment during the day and the evening. If we are unable to go there again in August I for one will be very disappointed.

kafenes
I believe it's been closed since Autumn last year, as it was supposed to be a winter re-furb.

All:
I spoke to Olympic (again) today and said that I would be transferred to a like-for-like hotel if not ready by 15th July. If I choose to swap before that I will be expected to pay any charges, but if they move me -no charges are made. can't be bothered with it anymore, so fed up of the whole bloody thing, collected my tickets from travel agent today and just now hoping for best......

Moved to the Phaethon Beach Hotel (Phafos)

Postby mummieslittlemunchkins » Tue Jun 19, 2007 3:37 pm

Sounds to me like theres a lot of people now really fed-up about this stupid hotel on the Cyprus Forum.

I was sick of the whole situation weeks ago, and I kept worrying every day as to whether we would/wouldnt ever end up going to this hotel !

The photos from the end of May Id had emailed to me from a local who lives v.nearby to the hotel still showed a bombsite & no progress, thats when I knew in my own mind that I had to move or do something, as this hotel would never be ready until next year !

With 2 young disabled children we in the paid £620 off our own back to move to the Louis Phaethon Beach Hotel located in Phafos.

We couldnt risk Thompsons telling us 2 dys before our departure date of 21st July (which theyd said they could do) that the hotel wont be ready.

All I know is that the word is that if we were advised that at such late notice, there would be no-where decent left for us to transfer to with 2 little ones.

Now weve moved to the Phaetheon Beach Club, in my experience of dealing with this revised hotel they have bent over backwards to help us. They have arranged for us to have a pushchair, baby changing mat & other things avail in our room for our arrival - Theyve also arranged a particular room for them.

All of these things youd never of stood a chance of the Atlantica Oasis doing for you!

Everyone Ive spoken to who has been to the Phaethon Beach Hotel in Phafos with children has hardly no complaints at all.

We are now going to much a better hotel thank goodness.

I know its cost us £620 to move, but in the end the childrens safety & enjoyment come first. Trying to get some of this money back currently, but I'll have to wait & see what happens in the end
