HI ALL
I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO SEND PHOTOS TO YOUR E-MAILS, THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WHEN I ATTACH SOMETHING, SO I DO APOLOGISE
FIRST CHOICE HAVE SAID THAT THE HOTEL WILL BE READY MID AUGUST SASSY, SO KEEP ON AT OLYMPIC...
STAND YOUR GROUND, KEEP PHONING FOR UPDATES WEEKLY AND THEN EVERYDAY
AND AS FOR CHARGING YOU MORE MONEY I WOULD TELL THEM TO DO ONE...
IF SHOULDNT PAY ANYMORE THAN YOU ALREADY HAVE AND IF THEY UPGRADE YOU TO A HIGHER STAR HOTEL THEN THATS THEIR PROBLEM, NOT YOURS
I FLY OUT THIS SUNDAY, SO I WILL BE CHECKING ON THE ATLANTICA OASIS, SO IF I GET TO A PC I WILL POST HERE STRAIGHT AWAY...
I WILL UPDATE YOU ON PROGRESS ON THE ATLANTICA IN A COUPLE OF DAYS WHEN I SPEAK TO MY FRIEND..

Many Thanks for the update Jo. I look forward to hearing your report, and really hope that its positive. To say that it will be ready Mid August is really worrying.

Due to go out on the 24th, after many calls to First Choice and no answers I went into the nearest First Choice agents. They contacted there office and it was confirmed that the hotel would not be open. They would be sending a letter out in a couple of days to confirm a change to the Miramar. Does anyone know is the Miramare allinclusive???

I am due to go on the 4th july. Emailed the hotel direct and they confirmed that the hotel would not be ready. However, Direct Holidays are refusing to believe this and will not change my booking or give me a refund. They said that if I want to change they will have to charge me more and admin fees. I am going with my 1 year old son and chose this hotel because of its facilities. I am really concerned as we can't just take what ever is left. I have been to the miramar and although it is a lovely hotel it just isn't suitable for a toddler. My husband has contacted ABTA but haven't heard anything as yet

Any advice about what I can do next? Time is really getting on!!
Thanks :x

I have just checked the atlantica website and the miramar looks lovely. A previous post said that they would be upgraded to all inclusive but I suppose you would have to check with your tour operator.

We paid £620 to switch from atlantica !!

Postby mummieslittlemunchkins » Thu Jun 07, 2007 12:16 am

Last Thursday (31st May) we paid £620 to move to another hotel in Phafos - This £620 comprised of a moving fee of £35 x 2 adults, then the rest was how much extra (the difference) the other hotel cost (even though this hotel is same star & would of been same price if wed decided to book this hotel in 1st place !)

Thompsons still said last Thurs that the Atlantica would be open for 21st July our arrival, but with the photos I had of a bomb site & my contacts out in Limassol I 100% didnt believe them.

Thompsons said that they could let me know as close as even 2 dys before we were due to travel to say the Atlantica wouldnt be ready. Then what chance would we have then of being switched to somewhere decent we thought !

Im in touch with a solicitor & thinking of appointing them to try & get me some of my £620 back, but they can only consider doing this if I have documentary evidence & more proof that the Atlantica wont be open for our arrival date of 21st July

All I do know is that Thompsons must be behind with the times, as today they said to me on the phone that the Atlantica will open on 15th July, whereby Thomas Cook have said to others (i see from web site posts) that it is at least 22nd July onwards & poss later.

Can anyone help at all with any faxes or documentary evidence they could perhaps email to me for me to pass onto my solicitor to at least try & get some of my £620 back from Thompsons that Ive paid.

We are going on holiday with 2 v.young disabled children, so we couldnt afford to hang around until Thompsons potentially told us last min that our hotel wont be ready. As we could of ended up being put anywhere, and then it may have not been suitable for the children. The way weve done it means that the hotel weved moved to is suitable for the childrens needs.

Also if Thompsons let us know last min that the Atlantica wouldnt be ready for our arrival on 21st July, then what hope is there of any decent hotels/rooms being avail to accept us at that last min !!!

Thanks
