To Kierdan

We're travelling with Thomson and was meant to be going to the Oasis on the 21 Jul. They have confirmed it will not be ready for that date so why First Choice do not have this same information is amazing. Consequently Thomson have moved us to the Louis Papheon in Paphos which is meant to be a great hotel, an upgrade plus the standard compensation that is given out. I've also heard that if you're booked into the garden complex then you will be moved as well as you cannot take up the full facilities that you are entitled to use from the hotel but again this is with Thomson. Hope you get it sorted.

We were booked into the gardens from th 21st july and got a letter from thomsons on sat 30th june to say they had moved us to phapos, because it was not now available! We did not want to go to paphos ,as we have friends who live in limassol and it would have meant alot of travelling,so we cancelled and got a full refund plus the compensation, and then booked two weeks in august £300.00 cheaper in limassol in some apartments that are not very far from the gardens that we were originally booked in!

Good luck,dawn

Hi Keirdan

I to was booked into the Atlantica Gardens on 21st July with Thomson, they have confirmed this will not be open and have moved us to Paphos Gardens Holiday Resort in Paphos in a Superior Studio along with the standard compensation, I suggest you get back in touch with your travel agent or call First Choice and demand to be moved. If like me you booked the apartments because of the facilities the hotel has to offer, if they are unable to meet this, they should be responsible and move you!!

Thomson did say we could choose any accommodation in their brochure, obviously paying the difference if we choose somewhere more expensive.

Good luck!!!!

The staff at the Oasis are now saying it will be open on the 25th July and as we all know, this is unlikely. Phoned FIRST CHOICE to tell them we are concerned that it will not be ready for when we go on the 19th August but they will not do anything about it. If we want to change hotel, they will charge us £40 per person admin charge plus the difference if more expesive. We cannot find another hotel at the same price as there are no free child places available at this late stage.

All we can do is wait for them to tell us that the hotel will not be ready and hope that we are put in a good hotel with the same facilities as the Oasis.

If you already had a Free Child place on your original booking - the tour operator should honour the same as long as the new accommodation you choose offers Free Child places also in the brochure.

More phone calls today to travel agent, they now believe there is a problem with the Oasis. First Choice have yet to confirm this, but think we are making progress.

This forum is begining to make an impact, so thanks to everyone, KEEP IT GOING.

Hi everyone, Can't believe some of you arestill having problems. We were due to go on 22nd july (read previous posts) and after numerous calls to first choice, standing our ground they sorted it out. After offering alternative accom. all of which wre unsuitable for families, I refused and told them that they would have to find us something else. \they offered full refund, but I explained ehat we had free child places and would not be able to get them, or afford to pay more, at this late date. They then agreed to honour free child palces at anyhotel, as long as they were offered in brochure. This took some patience, but you need to be firm and sort it out, as the accomodations being given on arrival are not suitable for kids, so sort it out before you go. Good luck sharon
