Hi Dawny

I have had a telephone call from my travel agent this morning confirming the hotel/apartments would not be open. Thomson have also offered us the Paphos Garden Apartments in Paphos. Has anyone stayed her before? I would appreciate any opinions on Paphos!!!! before i agree.

Hope you have a great holiday Dawny, shame we wont meet now, but enjoy yourselves!! Wish me luck....

Paphos Gardens apartments are not a patch on the Atlantica (even before its' recent upgrade). Unless they have refurbished Paphos Gardens within the last 3yrs, that is!

I used to work for a tour operator in UK for 10yrs and this unit that used to receive complaints regularly.

As for Paphos, it is very different to Limassol (more tourist orientated but also more expensive in relation to eating & drinking as there are also loads of ex-pats living there) and Limassol is better located for travelling around the island if you were thinking of hiring a car.

Hey-ho everybody. I have news.....

They have now said it's not going to be ready until AT LEAST end of July

My travel agent 'phoned me this morning. Olympic had flown someone out there as it's the hotel's fault, that nobody is getting told anything, so don't believe a word they say. They have been holding on to bookings as long as possible and not releasing them back to the tour operators.

I was offered 3 choices. Full refund. Move to the Miramare, or move to the Cyprotel Poseidonia. I chose the Poseidonia as my kids are 2 & 6 and the Miramare is not really geared towards young children.

The Atlantica is only listed as a 3 star plus. But the Miramare and Poseidonia are both 4 star.

So if you haven't been advised anything by your tour op/travel agent. Get down there and kick off. And don't listen to the hotel......!

Good luck everyone. I will try and go see the hotel when I am out there (from 22 July for 2 weeks) and report back on my return for those who are travelling there in August.

Sassy  (happy at last!)

Hello, can anyone help me please. We are going to the atlantica oasis on the 18.08.07 for our honeymoon and we are taking our 4yr old daughter, obviously after reading all 13 pages of comments and questions we are not happy and are starting to panic slightly, weve booked this hotel because of its facilities for children and do not want to be moved
to another hotel as the other hotels mentioned dont live up to the childrens facilities at the atlantica. We have decided not to chance keeping the booking and are going to try and book else where, dont think its going to be as easy as that though by the sounds of all your troubles, can anyone send us photos of the atlantica as proof to the travel agents of the state its in so they cant fob me off by saying all is well when it quite clearly isnt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Also can anyone tell me if they have been booked into the gardens part, if so have you still been sent there on the impression you could still use the facilities at the atlantica, Thank you. do not go to the miramareas it is not child friendly my son who was getting married was booked in to the atlantica hotel part and was moved there and they came back to the gardens as it was a better option believe it or not.im sorry i carnt show you photos as i camcorded it as proof i just hopr you believe me and good luck i wish you all the best with your honeymon and i do hope it is open for you but i carnt see it. hotel managment say it will be open by end july every one else including the locals say no chance.

Hi All
Been tracking this forum for 5 weeks and the Atlantica Oasis looks a complete disaster. Unfortunatly we are booked into the garden complex on a half board basis travelling on the 25th July with FIRST CHOICE. We have contacted travel agent x 10, first choice twice and rang the Hotel twice and also spoken to ABTA, all are sticking out saying Hotel will be fully functional by 15th July therefore will not move us. Has any one else had contact with first choice or had their holidays moved/cancelled by first choice. Our travel agent says if we can provide proof of this then we have a chance.
