Hi Everyone.

We were due to fly out on 21 Jul to the Atlantica with Thomson. Have now been told that it will not be open by that date and have now been transferred to another Thomson hotel in Paphos which I'm really happy about as it's meant to be a great hotel.

Hope you all get your holidays sorted out.

Hi Marie, which hotel is it that you have been moved to? Did they contact you to let you know, or are they moving you because you insisted?

Thanks

Interestingly, I have just tried 'booking' through the Thomson website and having put in a variety of dates, any date in July either does not bring up the hotel as an option, or it defaults to 1st August. I have a feeling therefore that they are about to put back the opening date.

Kezlop

It's the Louis Papheon (?) Beach Club. We expressed that hotel as a preference a couple of days ago if it was likely that the Atlantica was not going to be open in time but as it was Thomson was sending letters out to customers yesterday with new hotel transfer details saying a room had been held and to phone and confirm if you were happy with that.

With Thomson they are now sending out a cancellation invoice and then another invoice for the new hotel so it will be interesting to see if this new hotel is cheaper than what I've originally paid for although it's a 4 star, if that's the case then I will be seeking the difference back plus new flight tickets will be dispatched.

I am booked through Olympic, and they are saying that it's beentaken off their building report. I tried to book via the Atlantica website for my departure date (22 July) - and it lets you book it!

Am still waiting for Olympic to get back to me from resort.

Will keep y'all posted!!

HI, CAZ , we have just been informed that we should get a letter tomorrow from thomsons, giving us the option of another hotel/apartments as they have said that the atlantica is now closed , so will be interested to hear what they will be offering us!

Hi Dawny, How did you hear? I assumed they would still send us to the apartments as it has its own pool, reception bar etc we just would not have the facilities of the hotel and entertainment. Of which we werent very happy about as this was the reason for booking the hotel/apartments in the first place.

I have had a look on the thomson site and they dont offer any other apartments in Limassol, if they are going to move us I assume it will somewhere else? Paphos maybe?

Thanks for keeping me informed, please let me know as soon as you hear and i will do the same.

Good luck!!!

Just phoned the hotel directly to see what date they are saying it would be ready now.... They are still giving the date 15th July!!!! I wish they could be honest so at least I could get onto First Choice and get another hotel sorted. We don't go until mid Aug but having seen Clare's photos, there is no way it will be ready for then.

I have spoken to Olympic (again) and there is a meeting today (Friday) at the hotel, with contractors and reps from resort to ascertain what exactly has been finished/completed. And I was also told that someone at Olympic has seen these photos and I was told the work has moved on 'considerably'. Whatever the hell that means.

So I am looking to get an answer by Monday at the latest

Will advise........
