it seems i have offended you no malice intended. sorry ......................... i wonder what the forum will make of this is it a sign of strenth or weaknes to say apublic appology

I am glad that you had the courage to apologise...but try to thing of that part before insulting people. Free_cyprus...I dont think that you have to listen anyone. At least they have someone to argue with and exchange "bad words"

you do not like me thats fine many people in this forum dont like me thats also fine to.........................i dont know you but i can tell when someone is talking a lot of rubbish concerning cyprus and thats when i open my big mouth sometimes the words are alittle harsh to say the least .................. the reason for that is i wont sell my cyprus to turkey or greece as many of you in this forum have...................i dont care people speak two languages in cyprus thats ok in india they speak 20 languages but they dont call themselves after the languages they speak they are proud to be indians.................................there is massive differance between speaking greek or turkish in cyprus to saying greek cypriot and trukish cypriot.........................and if you cannot see the differance and what this does or what this statement couses then i cannot help you.............................whatever i write in this forum i write as a whole cyprus i never take sides and i never will ..............................does this make me bad or good..............................................unlike many in this forum who are yaking on about us turkish cypriots or us greek cypriots....................... we are the result of thousands of years of accupation from difrent cultures diffrent customs....................................and yet we ended up as greeks and turks and you lot believe that ................ you never stop to ask are we really greeks and turks becouse we speak the language how comes south americans dont say they are spanish when theres 0ver 400 million people speakign spanish how comes the black in the carrabean dont say they are english becouse they speak english and how come sbrazilians dont say they are prtugese when theres 200 million of them speak portugese....................... you have to look at the world and question things and no other place on earth has been occupied and ruled as cyprus have and yet you lot persist we are turks and greeks becouse we speak their language........................feck i had to get the feck in cos it makes me mad that my people do not have the brains and vission to question anything my island of cyprus is an island of yes people

Your ideas are wrong and actually very radical to an extent of beeing an obsession. I can understand your frustration on the current situation and how you feel but denying the fact the the 99% of this population is made of 800000 greeks and 200000 turks has nothing to do with building an independent sovereign state.
We do not only speak greek or turkish, our greek ancestors came on this island 3000 years ago and buit a civilisation on the ancient greek principals always beeing part of the ancient hellenic people. We offered to our nation art, science and philosophy like most of the greek colonies at the time. However following the fall of the byzantine empire like most greek colonies we endured our language and traditions throughout the centuries even though we had to go through a lot of occupiers. Thus we share a lot more than language to the rest of the modern Greek world. If you study the history of Crete, Rhodes, Corfu and other islands you will be amazed by how much we have in common(even our dialects).
As for the turks they were brought here by the ottoman empire and by now after all these years they are part of this island. They are now our brothers and we should see them as such.
The beauty of Cyprus is that! Its diversity! In ethnic groups and civilisations.

you openly told me your origins are from greece and the turkish speaking peoples origins are from turkey ....................................... i do not see that in cyprus but then again im no ordinary cypriot am i ..........................................soo lets just call ourselves greeks and turks for sake of argument and say no more
