FC why don't you just agree to disagree with most of the Forum on this point and stop yapping on about it. You have already dedicated over 700 posts to the subject; have you nothing else to say? If not, then just stop posting, you have made your 1 view clear trust me.

FC,

You are a very confused person. Beeing of Greek ethnic origin has nothing to do with beeing a citizen of the modern greek state. You cannot denny the fact that 80% of the population of this island are Greeks in ethnic sense. However this should not be an obsticale of beeing Cypriot nationals, fight for Cyprus and for a better tomorrow for all the Cypriot nationals. We should be independent Cypriots politically and we are very lucky in that sense compared to other Greek islanders like the Cretans or the Rhodians.

In the history of mankind there has not been an ethnic group called the Cypriots. Most of the Cypriots originate from Mykines. Ok pretty sure there must have been in prehistoric times some people here before 3000 BC however it is evident that they where quickly assimilated by the greatness of the ancient greek civilisation. For god sake the first writings found were on this island were in Greek!

So my friend sit down and think, yes you might not have any ties with Greece as a state and political entity, but you are a Cypriot of Greek ethnic background and if you deny that be prpepared to make the same mistakes our ancestors done.

FC we are very lucky to live in a free(at least by 70%) democratic country we call the Rpublic of Cyprus. Of course you are free to feel and be whatever you like as long as you are inside the law. However in the universe not everything is philosophical in essence. Thus you can call this planet mars if you want... however the truth is that it is earth ;) so i am afraid that your dream of cypriot nation is fine as long as it stays a dream... otherwise it is a very nationalistic and almost dangerous point of view that in fact destroys all we are just for the sake of a "free cyprus"as you call it.

Well to inform you Cyprus can be a very free place only when we realise that we need to respect who we are and not deny it!
