Pissouri

Have visited this beautiful and friendly village as a tourist many times over the last 3 years. Now I have sold my house in UK and am preparing to move but am still unsure of exactly where in Cyprus.

Can you tell me what "normal" village life is like as a resident rather than a holidaymaker. Everyone seemed very friendly .....some overly!! However is life as pleasant everyday both during high peak season and off season alike

Thank you for any practical advice and helpful opinions

Hi,

We’ve lived in Pissouri for 4½ years and absolutely adore it here! I’d be delighted to answer any questions that you have…

The village is obviously quieter in the winter but there are always a number of bars and restaurants open. The village still has a farming community of course so it never completely ‘closes’.

The beach area on the other hand gets very quiet in the winter.

Village life is a real mixed bag, just as it would be anywhere in the world.

There are lovely people, there are miserable people.

Just be aware that being in a village away from the main towns/cities will be very different.

In our case, be aware that there may be hunting dog kennels, barking all day every day! And one very ignorant owner who thinks that this is acceptable and that we are moaning for no reason!
