if your father has a british passport why does he not use that to go to cyprus with and when he is there he can get a cypriot passport while visiting.

He has a South African passport, he still needs a letter from consul or entry visa....... I think it is rediculous but the airlines will not let him fly without.

What a coincidence. I'm also from Kaymakli (Kücük) and have just been to Cyprus, after 43 years. I went to get a Birth Certificate from the District Office in Nicosia, but was told to fill out the forms that they gave me and take them to the court, to be sworn in.

I did not bother. It might be different for the GC's.

Good luck.

Wow Im sure it was a big change for you, My father still thinks everything is going to be the same. He has his birth certificate, the only thing he is missing is his parents birthdate with year. It is one of the questions on the Passport forms they gave him to fill out.

Tell your father, that the biggest changes are, that there are more Cars now, than Donkeys.

Kaymakli is also packed with houses, where as, they used to be spread out. It was like living in the country before, as I remember it, from 43 years ago.

The Buffer zone still looks a country side, with almost nothing there. It is almost like, going back in time.
