TRNCs Mountain Flag

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

TRNCs Mountain Flag

Postby T_C » Fri Apr 20, 2007 12:02 am

Just found this video on youtube.

This is what it says in the description:

The biggest flag on earth! Is it a represantaion of our existance or extinction?
While electricity is continuously being cut off, you can see TRNC flag flashing
up on the Five Finger Mountain for a show off. We wondered how this looked like from the South side.
Tragicomic story of TRNC.

Nationalism before a basic need for electricity lol

If that was the RoC government cutting off TC electricity - youd have the usual moaners crying genocide.

i've never been to nicosia at night .... what a waste of time, effort and resource ... and all just to rub the RoC nose in it all night ... really nice work. Does having the flag illuminated really help matters in any way ?

T_C I was never bothered with that flag. But the way they made it blinking at night is very irritating while driving on the highway. It's not the flag that irritates me personally it's the blinking, it's very annoying while driving.
I mean its like an advertisement of a cabaret blinking all the times in your eyes and distructing you while driving.

I consider it a harrassment to my driving actually, nothing else...

It is a characteristic generally attributed to unsophisticated third world establishments , suitable mostly at an entrance to a strip joint. Anatolian citizens might find such lurid exhibitionism attractive in the same fashion cannibals were fascinated by a piece of glass with reflective properties such as a mirror. The rather civilized T/Cs ought to make it known to their leadership that such monstrosities are not a trade mark associated with the indigenous population.

It’s clearly something done out of spite and an unnecessary burden on whoever pays the bill. I might remind you all of this old poll…

It's not actually the flag you see in the day lit up. It's like a lot of light bulbs.

First the star is outlined, then the crescent moon. After a little while the outline of a flag so that it looks like a Turkish flag, then on come the extra lines that make it a TRNC flag. Then all the light bulbs go out and it starts all over again.

I agree with all the comments to date - terrible idea and a distraction to drivers. Also a waste of electricity.

Personaly i dont bother by the flag ...but the reason they put flag there...and they put the Turkish flag in a Cypriot land and the fact that they destroy our nature just to make the mountain look like cabaret

This is the probably the most interesting video I've seen on yutube and it comes from a Turkish Cypriot no less! Not least, practically all the messages are in Turkish! I really am impressed!
