TRNCs Mountain Flag

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

humanist wrote:LENA< have they really made the flag to illuminate? or is this youtube joke? Thanks

Humanist I am not concern what the youtube show…because in that site anyone can upload any video that he/she wants. Either that insult others feelings or make you laugh or cry or any. What I saw from the video was that the “government” in the north want to light up the mountain like a cabaret , like Pyros said, and the people that live there suffer from the luck of electricity every now and then…and don’t say how much they must pay for that cabaret show. Tell me one logical reason that they have done that?

They have done that just to make us angry, just to show us that we hold your lands, just to make people feel more pain…they don’t want us to move on from the past…if a refugee that lost his/her land and family members have to see every day that flag in that mountain that she/he used to live around there…and the night that everything is dark and quite and relaxed…she/he have to see the cabaret show and remind her/him the whole issue!

Humanist you know that I do defend TC and GC when they are right…I know that both suffer and both have rights…etc…but I do get mad with people like Shah that they don’t want to listen both sited and they act like those land and places belong to them and just them…is like they got them from their families…Shah believe that Pentadaktilos belong to him since his grand-grand-grandfather ages!

Isn't it SHAH? Isn't this what you meant when you said "OUR mountains?"

Aren’t the 500 GC churches in the north -some of which since the begging of Christianity, 1500-2000 years old, in reality TC mosques which were converted in the ancient times into churches by the illegal foreign GC invaders and occupiers of the TC’s historical homeland?

And then some TCs wonder why the world doesn't know or like to hear their side of the story!

Well said Kifeas!!!

Shah thought that Cyprus and Pentadaktilos belong to him...are his property...and the "evil" GC want to kick him out of his property!

Probably something like 1963 onwards....

When ever is convenient for you … you remember the past and when is not convenient you just move on from the past…when is convenient for you, you remember how great lives you had in the past and how much you suffer and others how nice lives you have at the moment … please!! Make your mind...

This works both ways and many GCs refer to the past to highlight the other sides short commings nothing wrong in that. What you have to realize is that GCs contributed greatly to the current situation and that it did not just drop out of the sky one sunny day. In order to rectify the situation BOTH sides have to agree a solution where we show that we learned from the past and build a better future.

Lena it is the whole picture that has to be looked at and not just the country that the RoC is promoting today. The South is not a friendly place for TCs to live in as far as our identity is to be preserved. The RoC is fighting for survival and is using the emotive factor of the refugees to spur on the GC people. The numbers quoted might or might not be accurate but it is a fact now that the problem is lessened every day.

Dear VP, I am glad that my post brought you and Zan back whenever you were hiding. As I said many times, and I hope you know that…I am not in favour of the GC and blaming the TC…I was called Turk hater because I said that the Turks caused a lot of pain to both sides and still do that. I keep posting that to come up to a solution that we will both agree and accept we both have to make a step back. I know very well that you can learn through your pain, though your mistakes but also through others pain and mistakes. So we have to hear what both sides have to say, forgive, give up from all that hater and move on to a better future. And if it’s not for us we have to do it for our children. Or else let’s stick with the memories, the past and the pain and lead our children to kill each other after few years. Is that what we all want?

I said about the flag…and I said that I agree with what Kifeas said because I was so mad with what Shah said...he talk like he has paper, documents that the Pentadaktilos and Cyprus belong to him and just him. I didn’t want to post anything to him because I am sick of his attitude. He never listen what we have to say…and he doesn’t care about us. He considers Turks and Turkey like his brother and his mother land more than us.

And what I get from that…you and Zan coming to defend the little owner there…talking to me about listening both sides and b*shit. I am reading a lot lately and listening stories from the past from both sides…I even came up with a really painful story in my mum’s family that I never heard that made me cry watching my mum telling me all about and crying…and cry with stories of what GC put through TC, babies, women etc. I never said that GC was innocent…but either TC was. For me … even now that I had to write this post everything comes back to my mind. What I heard, saw, read during the last 2-3 months. Things that are horrible for all the Cypriots, Turkish speaking and Greek speaking. But I don’t turn my back and live with the heater. I want to move on and do something better for my island. I hope you and Zan could do that as well…but no you want to divide Cyprus and stick with the past, keep the heater and live away from as.

Well that are your decisions not mine.

Why do you think we want division? could it have anything to do with the chasm between our communities, you may continue to believe that we will reunite that is your choice but you have no right to deny me mine. The past 47 years proves that I am more right than you are and division gains momentum as neither side is willing to take steps to bring the 2 communities closer together.

Good morning VP, well I have a meeting to attend and I will try to be fast so I can get ready for that. I think that you want a divided Cyprus because you said so in old post of yours and you actually said it with a round way now. You believe that partition is the best solution and you don’t thing that unification will bring anything good. Am I wrong?

I am not that old to tell you what the past 47 years proved but I am old enough to tell you what the last 22 years proved to me. When I was growing up I never heart about any Turkish Speaking Cypriot…I learn about the Turks, about the invasion from the Turks, about how many bad things happened to GC from the Turks…and as a child to be honest I didn’t care to ask why they call us Greek Cypriot and not just Cypriot. And I was a girl so they prefer to keep me away from political conversations…so I keep playing until I grow up….The last few years…especially after the opening of the “borders” I learn about Greek Cypriot that lived together with Turkish Cypriot even before the 1974, I learn that the word TURKISH Cypriot tell me only the language and the religion of those people but not what kind of people they are. Until then I knew that anything Turkish id bad. But no. The last years I found out that is not true, that people can live together either they are Muslim or Christians, either they talk Turkish or Greek. They are Cypriots and that whats rely matter at the end. We have so many common things in our behaviour, culture, cuisine, taste…etc that things like the language is not a problem.

So don’t tell me that we can not live together, that the idea of a United Cyprus is just a dream and it is impossible, because from what I learn the last 22 years is something deferent.

We are unable to agree unification, why?

Whats the alternative?

Why is division such a bad word? Look at Europe for examples of division as an alternative soluton eg Serbia Montenegro.

The Montenegrans didn't land 40,000 troops in Belgrade and kick out a third of the Serbs from their homes.

Exactly the point that VP is trying to make DT. Ask the same of the GCs that killed ousted and disgraced a whole nation of people. Ask that of our first elected leader and in reference to above ask that of the Croats.
