sweetie Pie,
that is all i wanted to point out in this thread. The USA does good things, as well as some bad. all i want is some credit for the good stuff. we're a big country, of course we have alot of problems, make alot of mistakes, and if we are looking out for our intrests, well--so be it....who wouldn't??? Just give the USA a break!!!

GorillaGal , the USA IS the greatest superpower ever in world's history.
It has a constitution that is second to none , a constitution that allows for the most powerful man's removal from office not by force or military coup but by the legal means contained in the constitution. In its' role as the world's police force inevitably errors occur and when they do the media exposes and criticises without fear of persecution. It is the world's number one democracy and the protector of the democratic ideals , you generally find most third world countries are harshly critical of the USA who , on the one hand see as their lame excuse for all their misfortunes , mostly self inflicted , while with the other hand gratefully receive handouts.
It is a great nation and long may it continue to be the worlds number one power , I dread the alternative.

It already is at ~£4/kg! I can buy a litre (0.78 kg) of petrol for £0.55 or ~£0.71/kg. I could but ~ 5½ kg of petrol for price of a kg of halloumi. I would much rather eat halloumi than petroleum products, though!

This is something that has been puzzling me for years.... There is a strange anomoly about our friends in America...the country is great at inventing and developing ways of destroying human life.
maybe im mistaken but can anyone give me a list of life saving or life enhancing inventions that have come out of America...even recently??

to be honest, i don't have any problems with America or its citizens. the British have this sort of relationship that goes way back, and ties us in with them, in a sort of no questions asked we will stand by each other come hell or high water, sort of way .

I don't hate the Americans just some of the things they do. If the Brits think the Americans have always been their mates and supported them they are one off.

When the Brits went into Suez with the French wasn't it the Americans who started to sell off Sterling and almost bankrupt the UK? Just to make them toe their line?

And recently revealed was a government discussion after WW1 that America should invade Great Britain as her sea power made her a possible threat to any further ambitions the USA might have...
WHAT really does make me mad about the present administration is its reluctance to assist its "special relationship friends" in coroners court investigation into deaths caused by our trigger happy allies...they try to obstruct the proceedings by refusing to co operate or send witnesses to the incident hearings.
I believe Canadian forces will no longer be placed in a battlefield situation alongside U.S. forces since some where killed by "friendly fire".

china is on the way to becoming a superpower and withing our life time we will see many changes on this planet and many countries becoming communist as a result of chinese backed................... with regards to america....................i been wondering really hard to try and find something they have done good in this world .............................well they comited genocid against the native indians ................in the first world war they sent over 95% of the soldiers who came to europe to fight were blacks..............in the second world war they used an atom bomb the only country to do so.....................they want to change the world and make it more democratic and yet in the sixties as late as late sixties black people had no rights in america they still dont have it today and the ones that do have it is very few.................soooooo did i forget to mention illigal invasion of iraq in the name of democracy..................im still trying to find somethign good to say ohhhhhh yes its got to be macdonalds even though i have not eaten a burger in ages lol
