because when they came to uk .they had to work and to them feeding lots of people is second nature to them.thats why they have been so good at it .there work ethics and family values have made them make something for what just came naturally to them .hard work .

i have one maties, there are 2 reasons the first is that we love our food and so selling food is almost a passion. secondly us cypriots are hard workers and with some hard work and happy smile everyday you can make a bit of money.

I have a fish n chip shop down the road from me owned by an elderly Cypriot couple. They touch the food with their hands and everything, it's so funny. They're lovely though and their foods yummy. :D

They started opff in restaurants in the after WW11. Most seaside resorts in the UK had Cypriot cafes in the 50s and 60s, many still do. I think the introduction of VAT may have had something to do with the move to chip shops.

Back in the 60's the Cypriots that came over went into either the food industry or rag trade. One of the easiest professions to get into without having to have a good academic education or a good knowledge of the language and they were also willing to do the work the average Brit wasn't willing to do!
