Unfortunately we have lost!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Pyrpolizer » Sun Apr 15, 2007 10:15 pm

Kifeas,

it is imperative that our leaders wake up and see the damage those few people do to us. We just let them hold the monopoly of the English press thinking they are insignifigant. Well THEY ARE NOT! It is time for our leaders and the owners of other mass media to wake up. How can we let them go on like that?

He is probably another traitor working for either the Turks or the British

Most certainly he is someone who made you believe his writtings come from an unselfish character. You can't be that fool can you?

:P: :P: :P: :P: :P: :P:
:P: :P: :P:

NB. I posed a question before: How comes the committees have not proceeded one iota so far? The writter never answred that question. He only dealt with what in his opinion is or would become a lenthy procedure.

Well only a TURK could have suggested something like that.

If you read my previous post more carefully I proposed a real Democratic way.

Please go back and read it again.

Hi guys!
I just could resist joining this forum after reading a number of postings....
So let me see, Tony Angastiniotis is a traitor because he left the south and went to the north to live among the Turkish Cypriots and get paid to express their propaganda, Fanos Droushiotis did the same, Makarios Droushiotis was condemned for speaking the truth against GC and murderers like Nicos Samson and now we have Lucas Charalambous who is a BAD boy because he writes the truth.... so how come all these people are still working for large papers like POLITIS (Makarios Droushiotis), CYPRUS MAIL (Loucas Charalambous) AFRIKA (Tony Angastiniotis) and even CYPRUS TIMES (Fanos Droushiotis) and they are not taken to any court or nobody has OFFICIALLY condemned them?
OR DIDNT YOU KNOW that Loukis Papafilipppou got paid a bundle of dollars along with Hadjikostis Dias Co. to promote YES at the 2004 Annan plan vote? So who are we condemning here? Some idealists that want the truth or those who do not follow the trend? Please clarify do not get me wrong....
If the case is like Papafilippou and Hadjikostis, YES MY FRIEND WE LOST!!!

Don't be so naive PENPOINT to talk about good boys and bad boys.

The press is by itself a huge bussiness. There are newspapers in the occupied that don't sell more than 300 copies and yet employ so many people. It's like telling me making 300 cents a day justifies 300 pounds expenses per day.

If you give me 1 million a year I will also issue a newspaper that will write ANYTHING you want. And be signed by journalists of ANY ethnicity you like.

I do not disagree with you Pyrpolizer, but why would these people write wrongfully and get away with it? Why does no body react like the Union of Journalists or even a civilian who can take them to court? Or are they simply writing the truth? that was my question in my naiveness... I mean do you prefer journalists like Lazaros Mavros or Yiannakis Kareklas for god's sake? Or people working for Loukis Papafilippou and Hadjikostis and his gang?

There is freedom of speech my friend. You cannot take someone to court for expressing an opinion. You cannot take someone to court for libel against a "non person" or even for libel against a person who himself does not care to proceed in legal claims. And in any case you have to prove the libel. Journalists in the Roc controlled areas are very well trained and know what constitutes a libel. The chief editor always has a look as well.

NB. the article of Charalambous is just an opinion.

And if you notice carefully I never supported Kifeas claim that "we have lost".
This is how democracy and this is how democracy in a capitalistic system works.

If you want to fight something you have to do it in a "Democratic Capitalistic way"

So maybe the leaders must at last wake up! AND LISTEN TO THESE JOURNALISTS! There were "libels" in the past in this Forum such as "Papadopoullos a Liar" and "Papadopoullos murdered his best Man to Marry His widow and her cash" but still NO LIBELS were filed even when the writer signed with his real name....
Nevertheless, you were very much angered by Loucas Charalambous opinion article as you call it. But doesnt he make a point? Nobody has answered that question yet in this post.... Just saying he is wrong is not enough... You might have to point out WHY you consider him wrong and unless I am stupid, I am not yet convinced that he is.... People will not just write for the sake of writing, would they? Please excuse my naiveness and elaborate.
Is it not more than obvious that Papadopoullos does nt want a solution to the Cyprus Problem? I am not saying that Talat wants a solution dont get me wrong, but arent they both enjoying their positions because of NO SOLUTION?
