Where to buy Electrical Goods?

Postby amlek » Sun Apr 15, 2007 7:58 am

Can anyone recommend where to go to buy electrical goods. As 'newbies' we need to get all the basics - TV, Washing Machine, Fridge Freezer, etc. Where has the best choice / prices? We're based in Larnaca but its not a problem to travel - are there 'big' retailers in Nicosia?
Thanks in advance for any info.

There are millions of shops to choose from (use the search facility to find other threads on the subject) but we’ve used Dalco on a couple of occasions now, the last to completely equip a friend’s apartment: -

I personally think their level of service is excellent – they come, install the stuff, remove the packaging, etc. plus you can order on-line and just give them a cheque when they are finished.

We used Electroline. Everything came with a 2 year guarantee when most other places offered only 1 year.

When we had our house built we bought all the electrical items from Electroline in Limassol – managed to negotiate a good discount and have bought from them since.

However, none of the goods (all Neff) came with English manuals and obtaining them was a nightmare (you’ve just reminded me of the problems we had).

Worth checking that English manuals are available…

All our manuals were in English, but they were not Neff products!

When I bought other things from Electroline they only had one year guarantee. Maybe 2 years is just for some products although by law everybody should give 2 on everything.

amlek, some other big names for eclectic goods are Megaelectric, Electragora, Hadjikyriakos and Scandia. You can find their details by searching here: http://www.cytayellowpages.com.cy/
